It's a shame a weak kage like Tsunade was in charge of the village during the invasion, who couldn't take out Pain in battle head on in battle. Naruto had to learns sage mode and rescue the village out of misery. And for Sakura, she could have done more I believe

Why show afternoon tiger? Pein would repel that with Deva path or he blocks it with his summons such as the dog that would just multiply. 8th gate Gate gets pulled by Deva Pein and gets missiles and lasers from Asura path or gets his soul pulled out or gets stabbed by chskra rods. Kishi had to nerf Madara plus give him Edo Minato, 6th gate Lee, MS Kakashi, and Gaara to make 8 gate look good. They said the 8th gate gives Gai power over the 5 Kages yet Edo Madara easily beat the 5 Kage's and called it child's play so any form of Madara with the Rinnegan beat Gai and EMS probably does too depending on what Jutsus he had (such as MS jutsu's).

Nagato would had killed Naruto too if he didn't want to capture Kurama. Naruto wasn't at full power, I'll give him that but neither was the Peins plus Seva lost his power for most of the fight.

There is no way to know who is right and who is wrong.... Unless Kishi himself states it, so we have to go by what has been shown in the manga....

By that logic that means Lee, Neji, Yamato, Anko, the other ninjas with Anko and Yamato, plus Hinata's dad and Hanabi can all beat the 6 paths solo style too huh? Gai out right said he surpassed Kakashi while going 8th gate yet Kakashi had trouble fighting 1 Pein then even more trouble fighting 2 and still died after getting backup and you think Gai can beat the 6 Paths?

Not only is Nagato a sensor but he has share vision which allows him to not lose sight of his target plus his eyes, the Rinnegan, would no doubt keep track of Gai's movements. Before Gai can even go gates he can be pulled by Deva Pein and impaled by Asura's blade tail that got Kakashi's Lightning clone, or get his soul pulled out, or stabbed with chskra recievers, or asura path use his powerful laser, or the path the summons the hell summon create can pull souls out as well as it did to Konoha ninjas during the invasion.

I think 7 Gates would have been enough to defeat Pain. 8th Gate would without a doubt beat Pain and Nagato. If he was able to do what he did to Madara with all the bijuus, common sense would tell you he would win.

I agreed with most things you said until you mentioned Gai only surpassed Kakashi only by activating the 8th gate.
Are you really that thick? Kakashi could barely keep up with Rock Lee during the Chunin Exams, and had to resort to the Sharingan, which in that turn didn't affect much besides the basic Sharingan tracking muscle movement.

Gai in any gate over 5th rekts Kakashi so bad, I honestly sometimes don't think he even needs it. Kakashi beats Gai overall with ninjutsu, tactical prowess, but without his Sharingan he gets owned by Gai.
