You're very smart, but the period is supposed to go inside the quotation marks ('boys.") :win:
If US, periods or commas almost always go inside the quotation marks. If you follow British grammar, periods and commas only go inside if they're part of the actual quote and I find this more logical anyway. If the quotation does not include any punctuation, the closing inverted commas should precede any punctuation marks that the sentence requires.

Not my cup of tea, I prefer the protagonists in action manga to have a certain level of grit to them
You maybe limiting yourself. Grit doesn't depend on the looks.

true, but design plays a big role in whether I decide to read/watch a manga or anime. If I don't like the art I tend to avoid it altogether.

Then again, I did avoid Clannad and after-story for the longest time simply because looking at the characters' eyes annoyed me

When I finally decided to watch it, I came close to tearing up on numerous occasions XD

Well yeah. I like OP in general but I am not least impressed with it's art style. It may work for Oda seeing the large number of characters he uses. Still I can't bring myself to care much about characters and Frankie's design actually annoys me somewhat.

On the other hand like art of The breaker. Back ground in Orange marmalade are also well done.

Ubel Blatt art is really detailed as well despite hero looking like a little boy till he is in battle mode. Contrary to his looks there is nothing like an innocent little boy in him. :p ( the images above)

For me bishonen males aren't even a factor while reading a manga or deciding whether to read a manga or not. They are a mainstay of many Shojo manga.
Black butler, Vampire knight, prince of tennis, Kamisama kiss all had a few bishonen characters and I enjoyed them thoroughly, even many shonen do have bishonen characters D greyman, prince of tennis even sasuke and killua are draw as such.

As long as the story is good it doesn't matter, furthermore I have never dropped a manga because it had bishonen males.
