Yes that arc have great art, but combine with their wierd looking human or species design, sure it drag down a little in their art department.

But the serounding places, building, and layout sure great to the eye.

The problem for me with OP is not their background, but the peoples itself.

Why is the art bad just becasue you dislike the art-style?

I disagree, I think Bleach has one of the most interesting artstyles. It's use of shading is very unique even though it's not as extravagant as others.
