*the ice rises, making a pillar about three times higher than you*
*after a few seconds, the pillar is still holding itself up nicely*
Nicely done sir ^^.
Now we have to learn to work with ice.
*we disappear and reappear on a frozen lake*
Hey, you're not slipping at all. ^_^ Good sign, means that you've already at least slightly adapted to working with ice.
Now, make an ice spike rise. To do this, do almost the same thing that you did with the snow, however, you need to make the chakra more solid and less loose, it has to be more... how do I say this... direct. You're working with ice now, meaning that your chakra can't move as smoothly, but it must move quickly and with precision. Also, you're focusing it to form an upsidedown cone-like shape.
Ok ~I put my arm and hand in the direction of the ice and then focus my chakra to make a steady flow of it within the ice. I then quickly lift my arm and concentrate on making the instructed shape. I do it quickly before I lose it and try to solidify it as much as possible into a upside down cone shape spike.~

*The ice spike rises very slightly, looking like a small, pointy rock on the ground.*
You didn't rise the chakra enough, lift it up more slowly, because the more quickly you do it, the more chakra is leaked out. Rise it up slowly, that way, you can focus more on containing the chakra in the spike. I want the spike to be at least twice your height.

~I roll up my sleeves and then focus my chakra within a new area of the ice. I then pull my hands up slowly to begin the process giving it a steady flow of chakra and concentration to keep it dense and keeping the form of a spike. After getting a quarter done I start to do it more quickly to practice the flow and the way of making it. At a steady pace the ice spike grows above my waist as I continue...~

(Since you've been waiting for a while, I'll end this part here lol.)
*The spike rises up*
Nicely done. ^_^ Now, just one more thing before we start actual jutsu...
*Jumps from the frozen lake onto the snow*
I want to see if you can control ice quickly, and directly. What better way to do that then a snowball fight. O_O
Only catch, you can't touch the snow, you have to use your ice chakra to mold the snow balls, and then fire them towards me. If you can, use your ice chakra to protect you. Make it rise up under your feet and blast you into the air, make it rise in front of you for a temporary fort, whatever you have to do to avoid getting hit.
*Snowballs rise up around me, and suddenly ten of them go towards you.*

O_O ~I focus my chakra and quickly raise a solid wall in front of me of ice to block the snowballs. I then take the snow that was thrown at me and mold them into 3 medium snowballs and fling them towards you with my chakra to hit you.~

~I concentrate and raise a wall of ice in front of me to block the snowballs. This time I focused on the thickness to maximize quick walls so they are thick enough to block and easy to make. I then gather snow with my chakra and compact them tightly into 4 snowballs.~

*As I try to rise up a fort, underestimating your speed and doing this rather casually, I'm suddenly smacked in the face by 4 snowballs, and your wall perfectly blocks all of my thrown snowballs before they get through the wall.*

(Hyouton: Tsubame Fubuki) - Ice Style: Snow Storm Of Swallows
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: A snow blizzard of swallow shaped ice.
The description to this jutsu is very misleading. Here's the actual jutsu:
You must be registered for see links
Focus your ice chakra in the shape of swallows, and then in a rush, release that chakra and have the ice chakra materialize, ideally in the shape of a group of miniature, needle-like rushing swallows. Basically, it's like creating ice needles, but altering the shape of them.

Ok so I understand. ~I focus my ice chakra around me and I concentrate it to keep the amount building. Then in a burst I release the chakra in front of me to make the ice materialize. As it shapes the needles begin to take the shape as instructed.~
Riku is one of the best I've seen... I don't like it when sensei's just give away jutsus. Plus the longer it is the more fun I have at it. Snowball fight was awesome.

*The needles rush towards me in a good shape, but many melt as they come to me.*
You did a good job with putting the chakra in at first, but you were a bit to focused on how many there were, and so you made a lot of needles, but chakra wasn't spread out evenly through all of them, meaning that some of them had too little chakra and therefore melted away before they got to me. Try it again but try it with less needles, if you can do that, then we'll try to make more of them. Quality before quantity is basically what I'm saying.

Np. I guess my I thought I could make a lot and still shape them. Lets try this again.
~I focus again and concentrate my ice chakra. When I get the idea of how many needles I need and not want I release the chakra and materialize them making them fly and forming into the shape I want. I focus more while making them form on the durability of them while in flight.~

(I'll let you move a bit quicker on some jutsu since you've been waiting a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time lol.)
*The needles surround me, and they all rush towards me, but I quickly use the substitution jutsu. The needles all go through the log, breaking it by the time all of the needles have fallen*
*nods* Nicely done.

Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: An avalanche of snow shaped like a wolf pack.
*points to the top of a nearby mountain* It'll help if you get closer to the mountain, you don't have to go to the top, but go up the mountain a bit. When you're there, focus your chakra into the snow, make it rise up but in the form of wolves, and at that point, gravity should do most of the rest. If it doesn't, just push your chakra forward and down the mountain.

Ok ~With the assistance of Riku I get to the top of the nearby mountain. I then see a perfect area for the jutsu I am trying to learn. I focus and concentrate my chakra to link into the snow so I have high control of it. Then I make it rise and form into multiple snow wolves connected to the large pile of snow to fall down the mountain. Though it is going very slowly and the snow is so thick I help it by controlling my chakra. I push it forward forcing it to go down the mountain and gain momentum creating a wolf avalanche.~

*The snow looks like wolves at first, and they begin running down the mountain, but as they are running, they suddenly deform back into normal snow.*
Ok, I kind of lied there lol. Don't just push your chakra forward, or you risk pushing it out of the snow, literally, like you just did. Push the chakra in the wolves forward only enough so that they speed up. After they've sped up, focus the chakra to be how it normally was so that the wolves will stay intact. It's not like if you were going up a mountain, where you would slow down if you start pushing. If you're pushed down a mountain for only a moment, you'll keep that momentum until you go down. Therefore, not only would pushing the chakra constantly be risky, but it would ultimately be pointless.
