Hinata says she loves Naruto. Naruto doesn't react to her confession, instead lets Sakura hug him in front of her and tells his father that Sakura is his girlfriend while she watches on. At this point he has displayed absolutely zero attraction towards her.

Sasuke comes back into the picture, pokes Naruto's dream girl and all of a sudden Naruto loves Hinata. :devil:

He knew he couldn't compete with a true ladies man, so he had to settle for his alien silver medal.

Naruto also admitted that he couldn't confess to her since he couldn't fulfill his promise of bring Sasuke back. Telling his father that Sakura was his girlfriend (in front of Hinata I might add) is the icing on the cake.

If Naruto says that he never loved Sakura in the movie it's a straight up retcon. He couldn't get Sakura, Sasuke had a reserve on that forhead since early part 1.

Guess that pairing sucks even from an objective position. Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me as well. It feels forced. :|
