Reading. Math is the essence of Satan's penis. Reading is magic and offers a lot more than putting numbers together unless you're a scientist or engineer.

English any day over Math. Once you get good at knowing how to BS papers the classes are cake. Math just keeps going on to be longer equations and who's got time of that? Lol

I'm not a very logical person and tend to rely heavily on intuition, so no math for me. But I've honed my senses to such a degree because of it, that I can intuit something as unremarkable as a bodily gesture to hold some special meaning. I'm like a human tuning fork or a Richter scale. Sort of like Sherlock Holmes.

Reading, math became pointless once they got the alphabet involved. All you need to know in life is how to add, subtract, multiply, and divided when it comes to math.

You're comparing reading to something that a big percentage of students in school have trouble with and can be very hard on certain levels...

Reading is the first thing I learned in school and was the easiest, I don't mind it at all. I like both. They say when you read a lot of books your poetry and vocabulary is excellent.

I would pick math because it feels great to know a subject well that is pretty much useful in just about every job.

Since I'm more of an analytical person, maths is more of my thing.
English I absolutely hate. Essays and whatever.
I have a liking for algebra, trigonometry and matrices.

Would we have invented electricity without maths? No.
Would we have invented computers without maths? No.
Would we have had better understanding of the solar system and universe without maths? No.
Would we have invented video games without maths? No.

Every electronic device and science evidence (physics) you see and hear about, maths have always played biggest role.

OT: Since I major in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, math is my thing. Although I tend to read as well.

I know what Math has done and I appreciate it, but not all of its necessary for the average person. Most people don't want to become scientists, engineers, or algebra teachers. School's put algebra and such under general education, you don't need to a+b/x to the fifth power if your just going for your average education or a field that doesn't require that type of thinking at all. That's why I think schools should make those classes electives or advance courses for people who need to take it for their field the want to enter or people who want to take it.

Aaaah Elementary Algebra, Euclidean Geometry and Calculus, good times, those were the good days. However, for me, "Math" means things like Abstract Algebra, Analysis and Topology, and to be honest, my enthusiasm for this magnificent subject is not what it once used to be (though I still prefer it to most other intellectual activities). I prefer Physics now.

I haven't done any "reading" type subject since I was 16 (here in the UK, you get to choose all your subjects after high-school) and I don't dislike them, in fact I respect the humanities (partly because I was never any good at them bar the memorization type ones like history) but yeah, Im a Math guy.
