Neji has strong counters to puppet masters

Please note before I go on that I am not saying he can defeat sasori, Chiyo etc. Just that he has counters

So here's how he counters puppet master jutsu


Ninja tool barrages-countered with simple rotation

Posion gas-also countered by rotation. The gas is pushed back from the force

Puppets can be knocked away with air palm


And my last one, I'll elaborate on in a little more detail

As seen above, he can cut kidomarus webs, which Kunai couldn't even scratch, using gentle fist.

Applying the same principle of him cutting the webs, he should be able to do the same with puppet masters chakra threads

We also see that Neji can channel his gentle fist into kidomarus chakra thread

So, by grading chakra threads and channeling chakra, a weakened part one Neji can damage you're organs. Holy S that's op

There's no reason to assume he can't do the same to puppet masters strings

I agree east the west neji is the best.I even believe he can defeat sasuke and if he were alive he and practiced he would have even defeated kaguya. I mean he is just so awesome. Also about neji defeating sasukes susanoo. The gentle fist hurts the inner organs and is the most powerful taijutsu as it is said in the chapter where neji and Hinata fight. If neji uses gentle fist or air palm he can hurt sasuke badly. Did I mention it doesn't matter how strong the enemy is gentle fist will give them damage?



Puppets only have heart that give them chakra and everything like it was said in the gaara arc. Neji knows where to hit. I mean yeah sakura couldn't figure out at first. But with neji byakugan he would have defeated all sasori puppets including sasori in blink of an eye. Dattebayo!

Most if not all dojutsu users hard counter puppeteers.
Seeing and tracking chakra strings eliminates the possibility of surprise attcks, which is like 70% of a puppeteers mo.

Few thing you forgot to mention (or worded out for different points):
-Byakugan has insight ability so they can see any possible tricks hidden in puppets.
-Gas can also get dispersed by airpalm
-Puppet masters are vulnerable in close range; words of puppet masters like Chiyo and Kankuro. While byakugan users specialize in close range which gives them an upper hand(this is considering the skill and strength gap between ninjas obviously, in something like Hinata vs Sasori it does not matter much (unless Hinata has adequate comrades to aid her))
-Multiple usage of weapons/puppets from different directions can be countered by 360 degrees of vision.

Kishi got to the last arc of the manga and realised he'd totally forgotten about Neji. Realised that the rookie who was once feared by naruto and sasuke is on par with tenten on panel space. Solution = kill him off quickly with a twig.

the reason the hyuuga were side characters is becuz they'd become too powerful to ignore w/ any development(as well as originality reasons).


And it isn't surprising since naruto eventually turned into DBZ, while the hyuuga were based very loosely on Hokuto no ken(which in turn is based on Tao mythos/chi manipulation), so the end result woulda been: hyuuga = Gohan + Kenshiro

I never claimed she had feats in the first place. I just feel she will surpass him. She has the potential to. Because every student surpasses there master.
