Ao isn't the one who said that. It was Shikaku Nara. Which makes it very relevant considering that he has extensive files on shinobi in NV and was in charge of the intelligence sector during the war arc.

Shisui was the best for his time, considering Itachi was younger and Shisui was the only one with MS. That's where his title comes from. The moment after Itachi got MS, he began to surpass the former.



His only reputable hype is that he had the strongest genjutsu KA, which could be used once a decade. He was also stated to be the best genjutsu user, because he was the only one with MS during his lifetime. Other than that, most everything is standard.

This hype isn't set in stone for future years, considering that people improve (ie: Itachi.) It's evident that 21 yr old Itachi is more skilled than 13 yr old Itachi that was around when Shisui committed suicide.

Itachi has plenty of hype in this manga. And there are more panels of it than what Shisui has received.

Itachi doesn't disagree because because he can't. Kabuto knows it too. It's manga fact, Shisui was the best genjutsu user of the uchiha. Kthe hidden cloud even have intel on itachi and his MS techniques, yet bee still knows Shisui was the best.

People battled for Shisui's eyes. There's way too much evidence that Shisui was the best. Don't know what your problem is.

Well a lot of people have provided pretty valid reasons as to why your belief that itachi is a pale copy is illogical. You could say Minato was a pale copy of jiraiya by using rasengan, or kakashi was a pale copy by copying 1000s of jutsus from other people. People learn from each other and surpass each other, thats the nature of naruto and life. Itachi surpassed Shisui. Shisui probably was good overall in genjutsu but it was never shown, he is only known for his op Kotoamatsukami.

Individuals looking for Shisui's eyes doesn't make him the best. All it means is that his eyes themselves are the best when paired with Senju DNA. With that, they can use KA once every few hours. Shisui himself didn't have Senju DNA, he had to wait 10 years before using his MS tech again.

Didn't Kishi create the green Susanoo that Shisui uses in Revolution? If so than no, yata and totsuka are still Itachis move.

Yata and Totsuka aren't moves, they're weapons that you have to find to have. I doubt Shisui had it since he lost an Eye so couldn't use Susanoo to hand them to Itachi; Itachi and Sasuke said you need both MS to use Susanoo.

All I'm reading here is assumptions and ifs and buts and excuses for itachi. It's clear as day that itachi didn't surpass him in genjutsu or shunshin.

Why must one acknowledge a statement when they know it's true? Respect? No, another excuse. Kishi just wrote that he is the best genjutsu user. Why must he write itachi repeating the same thing he just wrote. The only reason there'd be a need for that is for certain people who can't comprehend the most simplest writing from the manga.

I'm not talking about after Shisui's death, I'm talking about when he was alive. Read his damn profile. His eyes attracted attention of other villages and even the leaf higher ups. His eyes were so great that he had to commit suicide in order to avoid a war over his eyes. Do you understand that, a freaking War for his eyes! His eyes were battled for, before and after his death.

So wait, how does everyone know that Senju DNA empowers Shisui's genjutsu? Show me the scan of that. Only someone like orochimaru and his knowledge and research could discover that. Dunno why you're saying individuals as if there was some kind of kotoamatsukami instruction manual in the ninja world.

And we know Shisui could utilise his genjutsu more than that. Because Ao said he'd witnessed Shisui's genjutsu before, he then planned to use it on the uchiha clan. So unless Shisui encountered Ao 10 years ago as a kid, then obviously he can use it more.
