It's hard to live in this world. I wish I was born into a world of love and peace. People carry too many burdens and release their anger to their love ones, the people that care. Why can't we have world peace. :(

Not everybody wants it, it's not human nature for every human to want peace.

This pretty much sums it all up. Even if there is people who wants peace, there will be opposing forces with greater power that will be able to negate that will of peace.

because thats how our world works.....
if you want peace prepare for war. there will literally never be a time where there is only peace. its a sad truth. whether it is about religion, resouces, different languages, different skin colours or even just different opinions, its always a reason for war.

this very base is perfect example of this U_U

If what you're guys are saying are true.
What's the purpose of living ? If we can't strive for peace.

human beings no matter how intelligent let their egos get the best of them and when a certain being is in the position of having power over people(head of family, organization, country) they will abuse it as they think there aren't any consequences. Telling them how it is in front of people they have control over makes people question their authority.

If everybody wanted peace we'd have it. We're too caught up with our own lives to stop the corruption and hate.

the purpose of living is simple, to survive this chaotic and unstable world we live in and while at the same time cherish the small amounts of joy that we encounter everyday.

@bold isn't that what we all want to know

Peace is impossible as long as everyone has freewill and differences, which means we have no conflicting options and everyone is the same(if one person has more "Stuff" (money, power, etc) over another person they will try to oppress them and make them see form there prescriptive and people will be jealous of a person that has more "Stuff" than them, which leads to fighting and wars. And because none of this will ever happen peace is impossible

It's hard to live in this world. I wish I was born into a world of love and peace. People carry too many burdens and release their anger to their love ones, the people that care. Why can't we have world peace. :(

We've lived in the most peaceful times the world has ever known. The era following the second World War was one of the most peaceful times ever known for the longest period of time in documented history.

Sure - there were minor squabbles here, there, and around the world - but nothing like the Napoleonic Wars, the Ottoman Incursions, the Spanish Conquistadors, etc. It's been fairly quiet.

Unlike the other ignoramuses on the forums - I'll give you the true reason why 'peace' is not possible.

The reason why 'peace' is not possible is because human beings are creative and resourceful creatures.

It has nothing to do with our negative traits.

Animals fight with each other over territory, resources, breeding rights, etc all of the time. The term "cuckold" comes from the Cuckoo - although, now, most avians (birds) are recognized as being very flexible in their breeding habits based on population density and environment.

Animals have long done precisely what humans seem to think, for whatever reason, is unnatural and cause for 'loss of faith.'

My cat, for example, was extremely upset when a friend of mine brought over a kitten. At one point, when I was calling for the kitten to come out from under the cabinets, my cat actually ran in front of me, hissed, and smacked me in the face.

The reason there can't be peace is because Human beings understand this type of behavior to be wrong, yet often lack the ability to control such behavior (or deny they do have the ability to, never making the attempt). Thus, humans are frequently unable to accept that the world they live in is just as it was intended to be.

We create this dysfunctional fantasy world in which no one insults another, harms another, or intimidates another... except to accomplish that would require a lack of passion. People would have to lose their desire to create - to lose their desire to survive - to lose everything that makes them more than a drone within a colony of ants.

Now - that doesn't mean that we should indulge in savagery as natural and good. But it does mean that we are in control of how we perceive the universe.

Peace is not so much what happens in the world so much as whether or not one can accept what is in the world. In order to change the world to one that is more outwardly peaceful, one must accept the world as it is in order to understand what factors create the material and events that unfold within it.

There are some things that we can change - ways to reduce the need for violent conflict.

But then there are some things that can't be changed. The hearts and minds of others cannot be changed. Some people will choose to use violence to acquire what they desire, and one must be prepared to meet their violence with sufficient force to put a stop to it.

One could argue that "more education" or "proper raising" and "mental health screening" could fix all of these things - but that is naive and ignores the arduous consequences upon innocent people. Not to mention the hubris of insisting one can force another person to make certain choices (and the inherent potential for abuse).

It is not due to 'greed,' 'corruption,' or anything else. It is the fact that we are aware these natural emotions are not ideal that causes us grief. It is our ability to conceive of a world according to our ideals that leads us to feel pain at the thought of the one we currently live in.

That is the reason why we can't have peace - that we have the ability to conceive of something other than the life we live.
