And yet he stood up against all of Whitebeard's commanders bar Jozu, Crocodile and Ivankov, and made it through.

Upon consideration, I change my mind. Akainu loses to Mihawk, Shanks and Dragon. He defeats the rest, and it's a tie with Teach and Kizaru(they don't match in power, both die, with one dying after the other.)

Your opinion. In my opinion however, Jozu is a low top tier with Marco being a top tier. Akainu is a top tier as well(albeit stronger than Marco), but in a fight between a top tier and another top tier(stronger), a low top tier like Jozu can easily be the game changer

Well I've already messed up by posting prior to fixing the list, changing it will just confuse people, so I'll have to leave it where it be. Though I can agree with your placement.

Not the same. Luffy stood up to the Admirals, and was thrown back and defeated as a result. Akainu was not. Sabo was injured, along with Fujitora, and neither made way in their confrontation, Akainu got his way. Akainu fought through all of Whitebeard's commanders except for one, Crocodile and Ivankov, but 2 Commanders are gonna kill him, sure bud whatever you say.

Not only the fight got off-paneled, plus the fact he had half the marines as a back-up, but on the battle panels we actually see, he was actually fighting fodder whitebeard pirates and Curiel(who was his strongest opponent and may not even possess haki, or strong enough to actually hit Akainu) with the stronger ones like Marco or Vista nowhere in sight(probably fighting his entire assault of marine back-up or something). The simple fact that Marco or Jozu alone can fight admirals 1 on 1 for extended periods of time should already tell you Akainu couldn't have managed alone and would have been utterly killed if not his back-ups

Dude you have eyes for yourself. We've seen both Fujitora and Sabo after the battle and it was easy to notice who was injured and who wasn't. Don't be stupid enough not to understand that translations errors can happen in mangas(like it happened in this case). Here is the real translation from cnet
