Seriously tho, Kakashi needs a Sharingan

All joking aside, i love the character, one of the best in the manga, but seriously, without a sharingan or some kind of upgrade he is just a high tier ninja. He would be the weakes Kage of all time (not Hokage, but Kage in general).

No SM
No Special modes
No Special chakra level
No Jinjuuriki
No Occular powers

Smart, yes. Tactical, yes. Mature, yes. So what, so is Shikamaru.

Kishimoto trolled him a bit by changing the essence of a well receive character that lost something rather than gaining.

This, and a Kage doesn't need to be the strongest in the village, some of them only turned out to be. Bee is stronger than A yet he's not Raikage. Kakashi is high Jounin level while Shikamaru is high Chunin-low jounin level. Kakashi most likely won't even be Hokage long, he never had an interest in it and is only doing it for Obito so when Naruto is mentally ready I'm sure he'll nominate Naruto and step down. Shikamaru would be one of Naruto's advisors, Sakura and Sai might also be the other two; Sai only if Sasuke doesn't go back to the village.

You do know that he has about 1000 jutsu under his arsenal still, right? Sharingan just doesn't automatically copy the jutsu so you can use it perfectly in that split second. Your body and chakra has to be able to pull them off. Without the Sharingan he has his full chakra reserves at the ready to be used for jutsu and not to power his Sharingan. With his Sharingan covered, he was still pretty fast and able to detect things (he also has ninja dogs still). And I'm pretty sure I have seen him use lightning blade without his sharingan active at least once, I could be wrong.

Kakashi was the youngest ever, aside from Itachi, to graduate from the ninja academy. (Before he had sharingan) He was one of the youngest to become chunin in his generation. (before he had sharingan) He was the youngest of his generation to become jonin (before he had sharingan).

He didn't get those ranks for no reason, he is strong without the sharingan. Strong enough to be a fill in Hokage until Naruto is ready.
