If I may interject my opinion, I think its because the clones don't actually have blood. They're composed of the element they're made in. IE lightning clone is made of lightning, shadow clone is made of shadow, water clone is made of water, etc.

and i didn't want to have to get into this but i cant just say i did the summoning instead of the clone? i mean the whole clones cant do summonings thing i have never heard ever and i had a clone do a summoning against roku once he didn't bring anything up just sayin
