Episode 6 and 7. Just... episode 6 and 7. Also, this fight was....amazingly done. At least, in my opinion.

I need dat soundtrack. ;-;

Anyway, Golden develops Adachi more, takes an interesting approach at things and is made with a better quality. It's worth skipping through with a few episodes being pretty good.
I'm not so sure about that...I certainly don't appreciate Souji beating my face to a pulp. :| LOL jk. I liked everything but the end of that fight. Felt so sloppy. But the music though. I NEED IT.

Same here. The scene started to become somewhat strange after Adachi slammed Yu into that table. After that things took a turn for the worst. Ameno Sagiri getting one-shotted and Yu carrying Adachi as if he was one of his waifus. :|...

Also, some PQ info:

Plot

The story of Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth revolves around a rumor that involves the so-called "Seven Wonders of Yasogami High", a mysterious clock tower, and a labyrinth that appears out of nowhere on the school grounds, during the Yasogami Culture Festival. According to said rumors, whoever hears the sound of the tower's bell will die. The bell's chime is also heard in Tartarus by the members of SEES, who find themselves transported to Yasogami High.
It seems this game won't fit in the Persona timeline correctly. It takes place during both Persona 3 and Persona 4. The P3 cast is taken out of P3 mid-way (They are in Tartarus and SEES still exists). I guess they all get transported from different timelines? *Sigh* Why did this have to be canon...

Gameplay

The gameplay of this title is deeply grounded in its Etrian Odyssey roots: Players explore a seemingly endless labyrinth in a first person perspective and battle Shadows in a turn-based fashion just like in Persona 3 and Persona 4. Players can compose teams of five from the twenty playable characters and dialogue will change according to the party's composition. The new characters Zen and Rei will function as a singular unit, with Rei focusing on healing skills and Zen using physical attacks. The twenty playable characters do not include support characters like Fuuka Yamagishi and Rise Kujikawa, who can be picked for the role and have support skills of their own. Party members and support characters can be swapped out as needed during the game. Unlike their originating games, the game will not end when either protagonist loses all their health.

Persona Q gives players the choice to control either the protagonist from Persona 3 or the protagonist from Persona 4 at the start of the game. The dialogue and events will vary depending on the player's choices to follow either the Persona 3's SEES or Persona 4's Investigation Team.

Unlike the previous games, all party members are able to use a variety of "Sub-Persona", which is explained in the story as having to do with the meeting of the two protagonists. These sub-Persona can be assigned to other characters and can be obtained as rewards for winning battles. The sub-Persona system is designed to allow players to use characters they like even if they share similar focuses by giving players the option to diversify their skill sets. By equipping sub-Persona, players are able to boost the stats of their team. Unlike previous games, character skill points can be distributed by the player upon leveling up and can be used to unlock a variety of skills.

Shadow of the Labyrinth also introduces a boost meter mechanic, which is built up by exploiting enemy weaknesses or dealing critical damage. When the character deals weakness or critical damage, it grants the particular character the "boost" status which has multiple functions: The skill performed during "boost" status does not cost any HP or SP, also the entire party benefits as follow-up attacks and All Out Attacks have higher chances of occurring. The more characters in a boosted state, the higher these chances become. Boost status wears off if the character receives damage or the next action they take does not score another critical or weakness hit. Unlike "Smirk" status in Shin Megami Tensei IV, Boost status only benefits the player characters and can sustain infinitely if the character in effect deals consistent critical/weakness hit and receives no damage at all.
Highlights:

The game doesn't end when the protagonist dies in combat.

The dialogue and events will vary depending on the player's choices to follow either the Persona 3's SEES or Persona 4's Investigation Team. Players can compose teams of five from the twenty playable characters and dialogue will change according to the party's composition.

All party members are able to use a variety of "Sub-Persona" which boosts the stats of their team.

Gameplay-wise, it seems it's going to be good. I suppose that was never a concern. The dialogue variations seem pretty cool. I wonder if you can make a party without Yu or Minato?

Wait... that must be it! If you choose to not have Yu or Minato in your party...

YOU UNLOCK TATSUYA.

He'll come in on his motorcycle, defeat the villain, and then wipe their memories so we have canon continuity.

Thank you, Tatsuya. Thank you.

But the more I'm reading about it, the more the plot looks like... a mess -.-

I really hope that PQ, Dancing all Night, etc, gets all the crazy weeaboo fanservice out of the way for the casuals, and then we get back to that classic, hardcore Persona shizzz for P5.

You're welcome, bruh.

I've been good, doing schoolwork most of the time. But yeah geez there's so many games being released in a short time frame, it's crazy. I think I'll only pick up PQ and ORAS on launch though, the rest can wait :p

Fun fact: P4A is actually NOT the first Persona anime to be made.

And neither is Trinity Soul (semi-P3 spinoff, non canon).

Persona 2 was the first to receive the treatment. Back on the JP release of Eternal Punishment, an anime trailer was included on a bonus disc.

It's a very interesting piece of work, as it illustrates seperate scenes, characters and concepts from both IS and EP, as if they were one story overlaying each other. Despite that, it gives an EXCELLENT glimpse into the atmosphere and some of the themes tackled in the duology.

Maybe watching it will entice some of you to play P2 :)

Man, I must of watched that trailer a million times. :p

I would love to see this anime, but I guess it's too late for that. I like the feel of this compared to the P4A.

(Note, I have not finished playing Persona 2 Innocent Sin and have not played EP.)

Glad you like it! :)

I guess so. As much as we can hope that ATLUS shows even a little love to P1/2... it seems extremely unlikely at this point :(

Take your time with it. The random encounter rate can be brutal sometimes, and really slow down your progression. I remember on my first playthrough, I got to around the 4th dungeon, and my save data somehow got corrupted, so I had to restart -.-

What are your impressions of IS so far? Characters, story, Tatsuya's swag, etc?

I personally *loved* the contact system; they were pretty entertainining imo. Besides, I love the idea that you can talk your way out of battles if you don't feel like fighting or have become too overpowered. The battle system isn't on the level of P4 or 3 of course (why would it be, it was released 10+ years prior) but it isn't bad so far.

I've been taking a long break for a while after playing P2 IS, but I'll be sure to continue it later on. :)

I also thought you might be interested in this video.

Yeah, demon negotiations were pretty cool. Although it's quite easy to start farming tarot cards, or cheat the system, if you memorize the patterns for the different demon types :p which is one of the reasons I prefer S. Links as a feature in 3/4 (sometimes it's referred to as the replacement for negotiations, since it does take some inspiration from certain aspects of it).

I completely agree. It's not that it's a bad system, it's just that 3/4 uses a much better one. Though sometimes I find myself preferring P2's battle system (the PSP remake's, of course, as it got a huge improvement to the UI) over P3's, because having the AI control your party members can sometimes be a pain (for example, when you're at extremely low HP, but one hit away from beating Nyx, and Mitsuru decides to use Marin Karin instead of heal you and you have to restart the entire damn fight over).

For sure, take your time. It's definitely worth finishing.

Ah, I've seen that video ;) thanks for reminding me of it.
It's highly informative, and the directors look pretty damn badass

God, I've passed some weird situations in RPG's like that
The boss was at 1 hit from dying, I was at no life with only 1 char left in FF13, if I healed he'd kill me anyway, so I attacked, the problem was that it was my support character, so the boss stayed with 1 of health, and I had to restart it all again
I was like :NO::rage::dafq::T_T::vincent:
