I totally agree. its not only about epic fight scenes its how the characters are and how well done the dialogue is, now granted I was looking forward to more fighting but after reading this it was like closure to a conflict that's been building up for 16 years. I so far pleased with how its ending

Been following this anime for a long time and I hope it continues into another series with them being older and not just in the movie.

ok where to begin. a beautiful scene between Naruto and Sasuke I cant believe that just happened and I cant wait for next week I hope that we have two weeks left but I heard that the last two will be released next week.

OH MY GOSH I CANT BELIVE THIS IS ENDING. this was a huge part of my childhood. I remember starting the anime in 6th grade and the Manga a little bit into my 8th grade year. now that I've started college this is a very bittersweet moment because another one of my things is ending. I've told all my friends I was staying a fan until it ends but now that it is I don't think that's the case anymore

Chapter 698: Naruto and Sasuke 5
Sasuke didn't managed to hit Naruto with his final blow, Naruto did.
They fight until both of them can't move. Sasuke still doesn't understand why Naruto won't give up on their friendship. Flashbacks, once again. At least, this one is necessary. The fight ended...ok for flashbacks. But during the fight, why flashbacks??? *talking about past chapters*.
Sasuke, at the beginning he saw Naruto worthless, but in time he understood that he's no different than him. Everyone rejected Naruto. Same goes for Sasuke...he was all alone, the last Uchiha.
When they were in Team 7, Sasuke acknowledged Naruto's power and he wanted to fight him to prove who is more powerful. He saw him improving his abilities, and so...he started to envy him. He sought to beat him, and he did. He won in Part I. SASUKE WON AND NARUTO LOST.
Now, things have changed. Sasuke has declared himself defeated. Naruto won. Not the fight...but he got Sasuke back. This is not the end I wanted, but it's ok. I wanted a fight until one of them can't move anymore and the other stand still. You know, just like in their final fight in PART I. Sasuke won the fight and left Naruto unconscious. This END I wanted. But it's OK like that. Not a great end for the final fight, but ok...
Stay calm. Sasuke will not die. He just talks nonsense. Why? He makes an appearance in NARUTO: the Last. So, he will not die because he will appear in the upcoming movie. Simple!
Their arm is ripped away because of the powerful blast they created in the fight, so...we'll just wait and see who will fix their arm. Predictions, predictions...
This Final Fight was ok, not what we all expected...but, huh, I hope this will be better in the Anime.
All that remains now, is to predict who will become Hokage. Naruto or Sasuke? Mostly of us will say Naruto, of course! The manga is named NARUTO for a reason.
We watched over 500+ episodes of Naruto (including Shippuden) with a kid saying in almost every episode: "I will be Hokage and I will surpass the previous Hokages", "Someday I will become Hokage and then people will acknowledge me". He said something like that. Right? RIGHT!!!! So, with this said, I'm very sure that Naruto will be the next Hokage. I hope Kishimoto will end the Manga with the most important thing: WHO WILL BE THE NEW HOKAGE? I hope he won't screw this up and postpone this until the release of the movie.
Next week will be THE END OF NARUTO. 2 CHAPTERS LEFT. 699 BLACK & WHITE +700 FULL COLOR.
THE FINAL CHAPTERS WILL BE RELEASED OFFICIALLY IN JAPAN, ON NOVEMBER 10/2014. Fortunately, we, (the Internet readers) get the change to read the manga earlier, which means THE END IS NEXT WEEK - 5/6 NOVEMBER 2014.
So, based on what we've seen...we could easily think how NARUTO WILL END.

Sakura and Kakashi will come to the Valley and probably Sakura will heal both of them. Then, they will dispel the Infinite Tsukuyomi and everyone awakens. Probably a time-skip, Naruto will become Hokage. And...and...then is the movie. Time-skip not far away from the timeline in THE LAST: NARUTO

Long time without posting here but hoping you give me the same credit as the others, thank you.

Don't take me the wrong way, I loved this chapter, but Kishi usually uses a plot twist in fights, and I think this fight ended too easily. I noticed some images it looked like the Sasuke's right eye fading, did he cast Izanami on Naruto? That's just my feeling. Is it just me or anyone had this feeling too?

It would be interesting to see in my opinion.

I am sorry to say but the Sun symbol for naruto is the right arm and moon symbol for Sasuke is the left arm. I went back to the previous chapters to confirm. So basically Naruto and Sasuke lost the side that the sage gave power to them. You can also remember Sasuke's rinnegan eye is in the left side with moon symbol on his left arm. Naruto got power on the opposite side of Sasuke.

I can't believe that when both Sasuke and Naruto need medical assistance, Sakura is not there. It feels like when she can help, she is never there and when she can't help she is there. Sighhhh![/QUO

As it was explained many times before, when a bijuu "dies" (probably from exhausting his chakra) he "disappears" until his chakra forms again. I think it was mentioned by Minato before to himself or Kushina when Obito had infiltrated Konoha. So yeah, he'll come back but it will take a really long time maybe longer than Naruto's lifetime.

It probably has a bigger impact in Japan/China due to the differences in culture. I assume that displaying such feelings between two straight guys is difficult since, like Sasuke mentioned, it is a sign of weakness. Idealistically, men are supposed to be these people who aren't supposed to show any sign of weakness like emotion. You could say Sasuke represents the old way of thinking as opposed to Naruto who is this new way of thinking. At least in my opinion.

5/5 Really loved how this was done. Just everything.

Now though it will be interesting to see what will happen next. Will Sasuke stay get everything running again and repent by doing good things in the name of the leaf? Or will he disappear and do the same thing. And genuinely stay away from the darkness (I hope, it was really nice seeing him laugh and seem like a huge weight was lifted from him). And then the movie will be working against a new enemy together with Naruto and everyone?

I havent liked a chapter so much in a long time. This is kinda how long i wish all or most big fights in naruto were. The fight against Obito alone took like a year to get through.

I wonder if white zetsu is somehow going to come into play now. We know Naruto at least gets some kind of a replacement for his arm. Maybe tsunade manages to do something like what Madara did to replace half of Obito's body.
