Can the sharingan differentiate clones and casters?

Before I get a bunch of trolls answering, this is a legit question.

Madara said only he could tell when fighting one of Hashirama's clones. He was fooled by one.

During the chunin exams Sasuke couldnt tell the clones of the rain ninja from real ninja.

During his fights with Naruto he always attacked the clones assuming they were the real Naruto.


In this latest fight he chidoried a clone, assuming it was the real one. He had his sharingan active during all of those fights.

So can he tell the difference? Can any dojutsu? Byakugan was fooled. Rinnegan was fooled. Even Sharingan/Ms/Ems

Thats another thing. When he was revived and tried to fight Naruto to extract the bijuu, he didnt know it was a clone until Kabuto told him. Can he really do it or was it just an exaggeration?

So basically unless the user doesnt even the chakra out then the dojutsu person will be fooled.

It cannot however, tell the difference between shadow clones as the chakra is divided.

If you look at the scan again, when they confronted each other madara had his sharingan deactivated.

Immature sasuke with no experience with the sharingan, especially after awakening it will not know which is the real.

The clones were of threat, therefore he attacked them all, probably not caring which one is the real. As long as he got rid of them.​

This. Only the byakugan can differentiate between non coporeal clones. Shadow clones are coporeal so none of the doujutsu can differentiate. Most of those who have seen right through it due to insight on Naruto and his fighting style, not because they actually see the real one.

Take Kimmimaru's fight with Naruto for example: He had no Doujutsu but his battle prowess and insight was able to discern which was the real Naruto.
