I think he did that a few years(i think it's years) after the fight against Madara.
Did the first Hokage actually die after the his fight with madara ?

Thanx my friend. Well , when he gave the Beasts he became weaker possibly but how he died is unknown. In a war there are plenty of shinobi and he could be outnumbered ,but still his Mokuton could eliminate many of them so he might as well died from a tailed beast that he gave , since he gave his necklace away too. I think this necklace was the key to control the Beasts .
What could this necklace be ? hmm..... ?? Could be a part of the Rikoudo Sage's chakra .... If what Madara said about the origins of Senju and Uchiha is true it could be that . It would also be a part of Juubi's chakra . But this is a topic for an other thread

He died at the age of 63 in the frist ninja war i think. I would only imagine being old is inneviteble, imagine how much praise the dude got for killing him though. I think his brother also died in the frist ninja war.

i think the 1st died from his battle wounds several years later(just an assamption but im sure he didint die during his fight with madara) and as for him dieing after he gave away the tailed beast thats impossible cuz he's able to controll all of them at once as if they were his puppets so 1 tailed beast couldnt have possibly take him out.
