This is more of my analysis of the fight so far, though I'll try my best to stay objective. If you disagree with me, then so be it and you are free to voice your opinion. However, only if its in a polite and calm manner! Sasuke's Resolve Every since they started on Team 7 with each other, Sasuke has valued Naruto as a worthy rival and a comrade to some degree. This is one of the things that have never once changed about Sasuke's character and I doubt it ever will. During the Chunin exams, Sasuke said himself that one of the people he wanted to fight the most was Naruto and he proved this later. He wanted to fight Naruto to test his own abilities and to fight someone he valued as strong as himself. (To prove himself the better of the two.) If Naruto isn't fighting Sasuke seriously, then Sasuke has no interest in him and wise versa. This was shown after Sasuke once again met with Naruto after his fight with Danzo. He claimed that he had decided to take Itachi's eyes as he wanted to crush Naruto at his full strength. This is also shown in the last fight between the two. Sasuke was toying around with Naruto in the start, trying to make Naruto go serious on him. When Naruto only responded with the same amount of strength, Sasuke pulled himself to the absolute max that he could. To this, Naruto answered with his absolute max and the clash ended equally. Naruto's Resolve Naruto also shares this trait with Sasuke as he said it himself during his childhood and during the last fight, he wishes to beat Sasuke no matter what, though only if Sasuke isn't like he currently is. Though Naruto cannot allow Sasuke to kill him either as it would place his friends in danger. This is why Naruto at first didn't respond with all his power, but later had to. Naruto wishes to beat Sasuke without killing him, but he cannot afford himself to lose to Sasuke either. The Bijuu's Role Now many have stated that Sasuke proved himself weaker by using the Bijuu, yet Naruto has been relying on them for most of the war. The fact to the matter here is that they are both weak in a sense and both rely on the Bijuu. The Bijuu is the gray here, while Sasuke is black and Naruto is white. (Yin, Yang and the middle.) This is seen as Sasuke is using the chakra of the Bijuu while Naruto is at the same time and they are equally powerful. What this mean is that: Naruto = Sasuke Naruto + Bijuu > Sasuke Sasuke + Bijuu > Naruto Sasuke + Bijuu = Naruto + Bijuu This is because when Sasuke uses this chakra, he steals it and when Naruto uses it he borrows it. Neither of them own the chakra in anyway and neither has more right to it than the other. So Far So far, their attacks have done nothing but cancel each other out. Attack after attack has been canceled, punch after punch have been shared and neither has delivered anything singlehandedly yet. Naruto used clones, to that Sasuke responded with Shuriken summons. For each punch Naruto did, Sasuke did one. This fight is meant to show one thing, and one thing only. They are equals in every manner. Though in the latest chapter, Sasuke was shown with the upper hand as he stole Kurama's chakra that was meant for Naruto. This will most likely end like the rest of the battle have happened, in a change of blows at each other. All in all Both wishes to prove to themselves that they are stronger than the other and both have a deep wish to fight for their own ideals. They are equally matched in every possible way, and they have always been that. For each attack Naruto does, Sasuke does one that is equal to it. |
