The sharingan can distinguish clones because it allows the user to see change of chakra flow within the enemy's. That's how madz lost because he didn't have his eye's activated when hashirama used a clone.

sharinghan does distinguish between clones and real one's. It has been proven when they fought in part one where sasuke deliberately hit d clones first and bragged about it

Being able to see chakra as colours would allow sasuke to know if any narutos are hidden within his LoS. It would be a different story if they are out of sight doe

The only thing different about sharingan are their user's, the susanoo,and most have certain unique abilities like black flames or itachis time slowing techniques. all sharingan can tell the difference between clones and the real person, the rinnegan also. Do some research on both of the dojutsus
