1.) You're underrating Marco
2.) They said Marco AND the Whitebeard Pirates. Based on how you choose to interpret that, it could be saying Marco can defeat Teach and his crew if Marco had the WB pirates backing him up, or Marco can defeat Teach 1 vs 1, and most of the WB pirates can do the same.
