Hashirama clearly was considered to be the strongest shinobi ever to be alive while indra, ashura and hagoromo were considered to be fantasies. Even edo hashirama(who was nerfed a lot) single handedly restricted the ten tails with his deity gates and even took down edo madara. Alive healthy sage mode hashirama clearly is top tier, above DMS obito and 8th gate guy and just below current sasuke and naruto.

3 eyed madara>= kaguya> hagoromo/hamura>Naruto/bijuu sasuke> alive sage mode hashi>.....

It doesn't matter they still solo him in that time , besides kakashi could've kept his eyes longer if he wanted to cause obito was inside he only left when they fodderized kaguya .

And gai is the strongest shinobi in base

saying that dms obito is above hashirama is utter joke. Obito was only able to spam kamui because of hashi cells, else he would have died at the time when he spammed them when rin died. *th gate guy ultimately dies and an alive hashi can survive his rampage
