Zoro is pretty stupid, so intel to him is meaningless.
Besides his poor sense of direction, Zoro is actually not stupid at all. He is on the contrary one of the most if not the most careful strawhats. He is the one who gave the "x" mark idea in Alabasta, the first one who had the clue of the dangerosity of so many weird devil fruits users in thriller bark, explaining to the rest of the band to act accordingly, he is the only one who noticed Law did something to other strawhats in Punk Hazard(when he switched their personalities), he is the one who keeps noticing Luffy to stop being careless when other strawhats takes it lightly(either in punk hazard or dressrosa)

Like I said, he has moments of insight, but he's not at the level of thinking where intel would mean anything to him. He was told of Pica's powers, it still took him a little while to get a handle on it. With Law, you don't have a little while, you either get it right away and you know, or you die.

Knowing to put an X on your hand, knowing that Devil Fruits are dangerous, knowing how to handle Usopp and knowing that danger exists doesn't make him a strategist, these aren't battle smarts and are near useless in battle. And to get around Law, you either need to have a substantial power gap, which he lacks, or intimate knowledge on his fruit and a strategic mind, which he also lacks, with comparable power. Zoro just doesn't have the brain power to deal with Law.

He has moments of insight, but he's not a really a strategist when it comes to battles. Zoro is might, first and foremost, so intel won't be of very much help.
I do agree with you that Zoro is not very strategic..,but hes not a complete idiot U_U....If he got any intel on Laws ability he would take more precautions and he would give Law a harder fight but still in the end Law would win.

He was told of his devil fruit, not his powers. No one told him about his capacities

He was told Pica has the ability to assimilate with stone, he saw the powers happening before he engaged him in their second fight, and Pica himself said what his powers are at one point IIRC. Even if the last point is me being mistaken, it still stands that Zoro was told what he can do, experienced what he can do for a while while fighting him in the palace, and it still took him a little while to catch onto Pica on the golem. Just goes to show, Zoro doesn't have all the gears in the strategic part of his brain spinning.
