Madara took the burden and handled it like a boss. He was a nice guy after all. Reuniting the shinobi world by giving them a common enemy and making them realize how much more effective they are when they cooperate. The villages have dropped their grudges and are now reunited; this is the dream of Ninshuu that Hagoromo wanted. You can argue that the reason Madara complimented the Gokages and the shinobis was only out of respect or honor, but I disagree.

Nope. What happened when the Uchiha wanted peace with the Senju what did Madara do? He wanted to continue fighting and didn't want to stop the War. The Uchiha hated him for that and its for that reason Madara left the Leaf thinking they betrayed him but if he truly wanted peace he would of agreed by his clan's wishes and agreed to the Peace.

Have any of you seen the movie called The watchers or something along the lines by Marvel? It essentially was a movie with a villain inspiring to create a plan where the world views a single enemy as a huge threat, enough to unite them together to defeat said person, which was the dude who became a xerath like creature (for those who play league of legends).
