Does beating someone with a suicide tech count as a victory?

So, in a top 10 list, I'd put someone above another person if they could defeat them. But does dying just do defeat someone count as a win?

I'm bringing this up because of the top 10 lists with gai in them, even though saying minato/hiruzen > (place example here) because of RDS is another way to put it.

If someone is really stronger than another, they should be able to win without dying

I wouldn't call that a victory, I'd call it a draw.

depends one how many people they can take out with them. If its just one kill for your own life then its pointless. Especially if you fail.

It's a victory if you're trying to make sure that person dies at all cost.

This. If it was a win Minato would be #1 on every list.

Suicide techs are a draw.

this unless the suicide technique can/does take down multiple opponents. (not counting the third using RDS + KB since they were merely puppets rooted with oro's power.

Wrong.

Whatever technique I use, if it kills you in the process, I won the fight. I killed you.

If Sasuke used his last chidory to kill Naruto, but then ran out of chakra and died, would you call that a draw? No. Sasuke won. His technique caused the death of the opponent.

This is about 8th gate guy isn't it. I personally don't think he belongs in the top 10. It's a suicide technique. Best he can hope for is a draw.

Suicide = draw because they both die.

What do you think guys? OT: I think, it's a draw if you both die at the same time.

Its an empty win. Hollow victory, but a victory all the same.

matter of prospective really.

for example say they are battling but not to the death if one uses a move that knocks the other out but causes themselves to pass out at the same time is it a win? no its a draw you could argue otherwise but its a pyrrhic victory at best. tho imo because your opponent was as strong/stronger then you were without forcing your body beyond its limits/killing yourself its a draw/loss

:| Why you calling ppl out?

Ot: Honestly depends on the situation

a strange example, if somehow Taka happen to be with Sasuke when he faced Deidara, and Deidara used his 10-km work of art and manage to kill off all of Taka in a single move, would that count as a victory for Deidara? He did manage to kill off the Taka at the cost of his own life, technically it would be Pyrrhic victory in my eyes.

In gai's defense he could curb stomp over half the alliance with the eight gate open (possibly all the alliance except naruto). In gai's case i count it as a win, he'll kill them and wait till he dies when the chakra burns up.
