Is it Gerrard ? Lampard ? Keane ? Or Vieira ?

IMO:

  • Longevity, Big games player, One man club, Quality ---> Gerrard
  • Intelligence, Goal scoring ---> Lampard
  • Aggression, Defending ---> Keane
  • Workrates, Vision, Box to Box play ---> Vieira

John Terry for me.

I know he isn't everyone's cup of tea but hear me out:

If you kick one of his teammates, he’ll kick you. Eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth. Once someone like JT is on the pitch, they’re all for the team, not themselves. There are a lot of big characters and egos in that Chelsea team, and he’s respected as the leader.
Also, he is one of the best defenders England ever had. He plays all the time and he isn't afraid to put his body on the line for his beloved Club. That's a true leader to me. U_U

Lampard doesn't really fit because he always used to be our vice captain except for the season where the fat spanish waiter was in charge or did you mean something else with "captain fantastic"?

For me Lampard is a better captain than Terry.

Terry did a lot of mistakes through out his career, on and off the pitch. From Bridge to Ferdinand, he has been really controversial, the opposite of what Lampard is.

Always consistent, oozes confidents, played a record run of 160 consecutive matches in PL back in 2005 with Chelski, once in a lifetime player really...
He would have never left if it wasn't for Mourinho. Disappointing to see the number 8 worn by perhaps the worst Chelski midfielder: Oscar.

Terry is one of the greats too, defo top 3 PL defenders in the last 20 years. Just below Ferdinand and slighty above Carra.

1 lampard
2 vierra
3 kean
4 gerrard

gerrard dosn't compare to the rest of them as a player for me.he was a great player but he's getting old and dosn't do the job anymore.he also hasn't lead the team to that many title's either.

As I said before, quality-wise Gerrard tops all 4. If you want to blame anyone for not winning the title blame Liverpool's board not Gerrard.

Well that goes to Vieria. He's much more composed than Keane and can control himself. A better role model you can say.
So now we are switching to typical Vieria vs Keane debate?lol
Composure isn't the only thing that defines a good leader. Good leader is supposed to motivate players and bring out best out of them, Keane is certainly better and I think his that so called 'aggression', plays role in maintaining discipline, it isn't before a long while, Pique admitted that Roy Keane still scares him, something that developed that respect towards him.:p

No not really a Keane vs Vieria debate, rather a Gerrard vs Lampard vs Keane vs Vieria debate. Though I'd pick Vieria over Keane myself.
I think you're a little biased toward Keane, being a Man utd fan. When I say aggression I mean tackling, marking and defending.

Now I agree that Roy motivates his teammates, but so does the other 3, and on a higher level too TBH. They are all big game players, especially Gerrard and Lampard.

I read about that couple of days ago. It was about Pique's phone vibrating and Roy went crazy searching for it in the dressing room.
I don't see why, weird. Not the proper attitude you'd like to see from captain "fantastic".

No doubt Lampard is the better footballer but theres more to it if you want to be a great captain and I mentioned those things already in my previous post.
Terry made a few off-field mistakes but I always wonder why terry gets demonized the most. Gerrard goes around punching people in bars, Ryan Giggs bangs his BROTHERS wife but nobody gives a crap. Those things are at least equally bad if not even worse. I don't even really care, the football he plays is what really matters. U_U

Oscar isn't a bad player, he plays well and is young. He has a bright future ahead, especially if he's staying with us.

Ferdinand better than Terry? Are you joking? Even Carragher recently said that he thinks JT is the best defender around. He's better than Ferdinand defensively and far far far better offensively. He's much better in the air and also the stronger player. This isn't even close.
Terry was named to the FIFPro World XI for five consecutive years from 2005 to 2009, and he also found himself in the 2006 FIFA World Cup Team of the Tournament. This speaks for itself

Giggs sleeping with his brother's wife was the most embarrassing... disgusting.
They did it for 8 years! Gerrard was probably drunk. Still neither of them are racist, JT is.
But then again Giggs mistake is by far the worst.

You're right on pitch performances comes first, but it differs when you're captain. A captain must be role model off and on the pitch.

Oscar isn't bad, he's terrible.

Overrated, overpriced and inconsistent. I don't see any bright future ahead of him, Mourinho wants to make the new Lampard out of him but no way that will happen, not even half the player Lamps was.
My man Coutinho plays far superior football than this guy, and he's a year younger.

JT is better offensively but Ferdinand was better defensively and physically... Rarely does any mistake. Just my opinion though.

Terry isn't racist, Drogba and all of his other teammates confirmed that. The Ferdinand attention whores were trying to make a big deal out of it which has obviously succeded. People just love to make JT look bad.
Being drunk doesn't make it better, I know that myself Lol.

Then both Gerrad and Terry failed in their task, is that your opinion or do you just ignore Gerrards failure?

Don't see why you think Oscars that bad. I mean he had some poor performances I agree but he had plenty where he played very well and currently his getting better every game as we have seen today. Made great tackles, worked hard and he made some good passes. We have a team full of young talents, they all will turn out decent, I bet.

Well, can't agree on that :erm:
