The jutsu says it splits the earth and not rise.

When the earth splits generally one side will be taller then the other side. So TECHNICALLY it rises.

Its a technicality could be both IN MY OPINION. o___o

That is Earth Style: Planet Splitter....I have the 44th book of Naruto in my hands and that's what it says...not earth fissure.

The description and what the jutsu actually are are 2 different things but being that it has always been splits the earth below u that's how I fight =/

Tenzo. the Earth Doesn't Rise.. it splits. creating a crack in the earth which most fissure are

if i could find the proof i would but. neither leaf ninja or naruto wikia has it. :|

actually. You know when Naruot first learned the Rasengan? he tried to hit Tsunade with it. but she slammed her finger into the ground creating a crack which he almost fell in?? i beilieve thats what this jutsu was based off. but. I could be wrong.

Doton: Doryūkatsu- Earth Style: Planet Splitter may seem the same but they are different.

Fissure opens seperates the ground.

Planet Splitter only causes it to rise. in a split up form.

excuse the bad patchwork, anyhow
this jutsu works more like planet splitter in the sense that it makes the earth rise, however it also makes the earth move the left and right at the same time simulating a diagonal movement.

so the end result is a fissure that has raised walls

like making a slanted fissure than raising it, except you are doing both at the same time.

No its a fissure it splits the ground in two. it would raise the earth elsewhere on the sides. [The soil and ground has to compress somewhere.
