I think it's safe to include that you're a New Ager. I've always wondered when reading your posts.

You seem really into it, too.

I'm a new ager, yes ._.
But I stick to logic also.

Edit: And I assume you are too judging by your username.

Human self can symbolise the whole universe and all the living and non living entities. It would really be awkward to say universe is infinite since we dont have any actual proof of dat. At the same time. Calling your inner self to be limited is also not a smart thing. You must realize that ur inner self consist of ur conscious and sub conscious too. And i can surely tell no one knows their subconscious ..

The depth of a human being isn't measurable, it transcends the boundaries of all time, matter and existence.

Care to explain why you think so? Our possible thoughts and potential for unthought thoughts as of yet (lol) is not something that can be finite.

I suppose if the universe grows at a constant rate then it could be infinite so there's that. The universe is also limited to laws, rules, physical concepts, etc, while thoughts are not.

Ideas do not have to adhere to rules, laws, physics, they don't have to make sense, they don't have to follow patterns, they simply exist in an ever-changing amount not bound by physical reality. They are far more abstract and quite deeper than the universe in my opinion. (Which apparently it is an ongoing debate as to whether it is finite or infinite from what I'm gathering on the internet)

We can't have infinite ideas because our existence is finite.

We have the potential, but the not the means.

For us to be "deeper" than the universe we must be eternal beings for our thoughts and concepts to forever be ongoing.

Otherwise we are limited to what we can think of in our brief lifetime. Hardly comparable to that of the universe.

Concepts and thoughts do live on forever. They live in another realm but it's clear that you can see that, not yet at least.

But don't worry, your time will come.

Not like you've seen it either.

and I'm specifically talking about the mortal realm, not any notion of realms that may lie beyond our own.

This is true .

If one believe that universe is deeper then he must consider that universe is made of matter and matter have a mass and a volume so we can say matter can be measured although we can't measure the universe it must've limit cause it's matter and can be measured but there's no measurement to measure the depth of ones inner self .

I'm heavily interested, but nah, I haven't decided on what is "truth" yet. You seem more sold on that. And you're right, I did borrow this name from New Age Philosophy xD.

Inner self? It is just your brain simulating.
Universe is deep. It is so deep that you don't how deep it is and you only know the observable depth that you can know with the resources and equipment you have.

Well, me accepting certain phenomena as truth came forth out of my own experiences. Either way; most of my psuedo-science claims are posted on purpose to see if someone can add or debunk it in any way. Don't get me wrong, I'm not "sold" on it all, I just think it's necessary to think this way as to keep evolving the way I think. Making that bubble bigger each time.

Edit: concerning astral projection; I never succeeded that. People I knew did which is not a legit step to "proof" if you must, but a friend of mine who knows and cares jack shit about spiritual things told me that while tripping on psychedelic truffles with me (i died of laughter seeing him drool and freak out) he spaced out for a bit and saw himself lying there on the sofa from the ceiling. That scared him so he shouted my mum's name for help lmao.

Anywho, point is, no legit proof, still small clues that stir my interest. These type of things are also being experimented with by researchers.

The human brain has roughly 90 billion neurons which is pretty much the main component of our nervous system. That is what allows us to think, make actions, etc. as information is sent throughout them.

Our galaxy alone, the Milky Way, has anywhere between 300-450 billion stars alone. Now, some stars like our sun have 8 planets while others could have none, meaning the number of planets could be staggeringly high, upwards in the trillions, whether they be Gas Giants, Earth-like planets or just giant dead rocks barely scratching the qualifications of being a planet. Now, if we take into account space debris as well like asteroids, comets, etc., we're looking at hundreds of trillions, quadrillions, some ridiculously high number that we'll never be able to calculate, ever.

To refresh, that is only in the Milky Way! There are over 150 billion galaxies in the known observable universe. Keep in mind that the Milky Way is a mere baby in comparison to some of these galaxies. That means we can have upwards to over hundreds of octillions of stars within the observable universe.

So comparing the two, 90 billion neurons vs over 100 octillion stars alone (using 100 octillion as a marker here), your brain activity is nothing compared to how deep the universe is. At best, you're inner self is 0.00000000000000000009% the depth of what the observable universe is. Keep in mind once more that this is the OBSERVABLE universe. We have no idea how large the universe may actually be.

I understand that, and obviously your inner self isn't too deep as you just overlooked the entire point. The question was, which is deeper, our inner selves or the universe. Our inner selves is complex, it's so deep that understanding it seems impossible. However, it's not impossible, we can understand ourselves, we can understand our functions, our thinking, how we work. We can do this in todays world to such an extent that scientists are already creating expected dates to which they can fully transfer the human mind and consciousness from our bodies, our brain, to a computer using nanotechnology. We can understand our purpose in life, finding it is a challenge, but once discovered, you can put your mind to anything.

The universe though, mapping it may be impossible, but then again, maybe not. Within 10 years, we'll have technology to fully transfer a human mind to a computer. Within that 10 years, we'll barely be scratching at colonizing mars if that's still even a thing. We won't have technology who knows how long just to see beyond what we can currently view. Even if we do see beyond that, we still have no idea what is out there for we have no technology out there to observe it in depth. In other words, it takes 1 human to understand their own mind and a team of scientists to map it. To do the same for the universe will take generation after generation, hundreds upon hundreds of years.

So what is deeper, what is more complex to understand, definitely the universe. Now if we speak of it in a sort of philosophical sense, who are we? What are we? Why are we here? What is our purpose? Simple, we're animals, that's it' Our purpose is the same of that of any other animal in existence and that is to reproduce and make sure we reproduce. However, something screwed up royally. We were given something that only a handful of animals possess in this world. We were given a conscious, a mind, we know of our existence, we're given a choice to do as we please, so much so that we can even neglect our basic animal instinct of reproduction. What came before us? Generations of pre-evolved creatures that after millions of years became us? What was right before you? Your parents, they came before you, they created you through our animalistic needs of ***.

Thinking of all that is fun, it's gets our mind thinking fast, rushing for answers, but then you go on to think of the universe with the same questions. What's the purpose of the universe? Who knows? What's the meaning to life in the universe? To infect it like a disease? What came before the universe? Just a vast emptiness of nothing? Then you start thinking really hard on that emptiness, and it's nothing you ever felt before. Not even being lonely comes close to the sort of emptiness prior to the universe. You start feeling cold, empty inside, scared. Just thinking of the universe is terrifying and you know so little of it. Just seeing it's beauty makes me want to explore it, but thinking of it's darkness makes me fear it and enjoy this little rock we call home.

Contrary to popular belief, we actually use 100% of our brain activity, not that 10% BS stuff. When we think of ourselves, who we are, etc., we can create answers, we can find answers, we can form our own answers. However, the Universe is so ancient, so unknown that when you even attempt to think of it, you always end up in the same dark, cold, empty space in your mind with shivers and goosebumps. You cannot, no matter how hard you try, comprehend the universe. It is to vast and to old to even try.

And to anyone who says anything is possible, so someday we can, then you just created a paradox. If ANYTHING is possible, than the impossible is also possible, meaning anything is impossible as well. To understand the universe is one of those impossible tasks.

First things first.. Thanks for summarizing.. :D

Now. The same thing i can also conclude in the opposite way by relating it to the Indian mysticism and philosophy. Human inner self is too deep for a mere human to measure. You need the true knowlege of life and its significance. A single human can represent all the living and non living entities of this universe or more generally speaking. God.
But i aint going to dat part because it'll take the discussion to an entirely different topic.
