With modern television and movies as they are, it seems that in recent years that people have become more accepting of the possibility of aliens existing in our universe. What are lot of people are starting to realize is that considering the size of the universe, its actually extremely unlikely that life doesn't exist at least somewhere else in the universe.
Now the reason I mention the media is because the idea is running rampant in our minds, whether we know it or not. There are tons of movies that touch on the possibility of aliens and you might not even notice it. Thor, Superman, Perseus.... they all fall into the same category. That being an alien race with superhuman powers that is being mistaken for a god. This tells me that modern culture is getting really close to accepting alien life as a real possibility. Now I'll move on with the theory.
If you've watched channels like Discovery and Science over the last few years a theory like this may not be too shocking to you but if you have not, this may come off as extreme. Just keep that in mind.
Here is where things might start to get downright odd.
That is the gist. I don't expect to have a warm response to this, but I feel that the evidence is stronger than ever to prove a theory such as this. For anyone that took the time to read it all, I thank you. Please feel free to discuss any part of it, including criticizing me if you feel justified or have counter arguments. Thanks again.
BTW, if anyone knows of a more relevant forum to post this kind of theory (that's not full of total wackjobs) please let me know!

Now, the line between believing in unintelligent alien life and intelligent life is a fine one. If you believe in the likelihood of intelligent life, it is likely not hard to believe they possess advanced space travel. People have theorized that Aliens of this caliber have visited us in the past or are still visiting/ monitoring us in the present. Now if this is true, and life is allowed to continue as it is, then these aliens must be peaceful. Or at the very least, they are using us or our planet to get what they want.
Now think about it. What could an advanced race of beings need from us? Lets ignore the possibility of them creating us. By this I mean lets assume they are not just here to monitor our evolution, but rather are seeking something from us.

My theory has been proposed before, and that's the idea that we are being used for our DNA. Now whether or not you believe in alien abductions, they are a real thing. Literally thousands, more like ten's of thousands of cases have been reported and likely twice that many or more have never been reported. Why would we be abducted? Are the aliens simply curious? I think not.
Now imagine the typical 'Gray'. By Gray I mean the stereotypical alien. They have large brains and small bodies. Now imagine us having evolved for 10 thousand years. No, imagine us after evolving for a million years or 10 million years. The possibility is real that a civilization has evolved this long as earth and especially humans are very young. Think about it, if we were to evolve for millions of years past this, isn't there a possibility we'd end up looking like a gray? Again, I'm not saying this race in question created us, just that we are similar to them. And perhaps they spent hundreds of thousands of years looking for a similar race.... and found us?
Continuing this line of thought, imagine what might happen to our reproductive capabilities during this time. Think back to the Man of Steal movie (aliens again). Kalel (Superman) was the first natural birth in that civilization for centuries. Imagine an advanced alien race that has lost its ability to reproduce, or at least the majority of the species has lost their fertility. Take this line of thought further and ask yourself why they might be visiting us again. It might be to combine our DNA with theirs in order to save their race. If evolution took away their fertility, then creating hybrid offspring with us may reverse their theoretical evolution by millions of years. Their continuing presence could be a result of gathering, what they consider, the necessary DNA in order to keep a stable hybrid populace.
