In this chapter, Sasuke one-shot Sasusaku fans, and put in danger the Naruhina fandom.
Sasuke is NOT interested in Sakura. But... Why would he put her in genjutsu then?
Some people may say "he still have feelings for her", but that is not thinking plotwisely, but by denial. A good reader would ask himself the following question:
Why genjutsu instead of rendering her unconscious?
Answer: Sasuke can control the lenght of the genjutsu, as long as the battle goes. If Sasuke or Naruto killed Sakura in battle, Naruto would go all-out against Sasuke, and time is gold in this case: Sasuke needs to finish the battle so he can use the beasts or he will lose too much chakra. Sakura is a potential risk if she is near Naruto... She would imply a waste of time, either by TnJ or by forcing Naruto going all-out.
As you can see, Naruto stated that a genjutsu was not necessary, when in fact, IT WAS.
