Would it have been better if Itachi was Hokage?

If Itachi had been the Hokage, would the whole Uchiha Clan massacre have happened? And would it have been a good choice? I personally think that Itachi would have made a pretty good Hokage.

everything would have gone smoothly. itachi becomes hokage so the uchihas are satisfied and terms are worked out. orochimarus invasion fails miserably because the entire uchiha clan is now super devoted to village. but on the other hand obito now has no deterrent in akatsuki and might send pain and konan to capture naruto way earlier like in part 1 when nobody is ready to fight the akatsuki besides itachi and hiruzen and itachi is still sick so they'd be at a disadvantage

Hashirama is not the best hokage. If you're talking about the strongest hokage, then yeah Hashirama. If you're talking about the most friendly loving hokage, then the 3rd hokage. If you're talking about the hokage who tried to bring long term peace, then yeah the 2nd hokage. 4th hokage didn't live long enough to make a impact beside saving the village from 9 tails.

Hard to say, depends on how the Uchihas would have reacted. Would they try to take over and gain power through Itachi or would they have been happy with Itachi as Hokage since it shows that Uchihas do have power? Also why would they make Itachi Hokage? I mean who would elect him at 13 and for what reason? They could easily vote for Kakashi who has more experiences, is older, graduated from the academy at 5 and became Chunin at 6, have fought in war and have earned the respect of others in the village.

You have to think about that stuff. Yes Itachi would be a good Hokage but we don't know what kind of changed would happen to him since he may not be the same as we know him, he was a pacifist but also could walk the dark path if he needs to be. Would Itachi be influenced by his clan in his ruling?

if we're looking timeline, yes, Itachi would have been killed, Itachi was 10 at the time of the attack, I pretty sure a 15 year old Obito with access to Kamui could defeat a 10 year old Itachi with only access to the Sharingan.

itachi has always put the village first before the clan. even he had made hokage, that doesn't mean he would've satisfied the uchiha's demands thus coup still happens then massacre all over again...just saying

You got the ages wrong, Itachi was about 6 when Obito attacked Konoha around 14-15 so if Obito attacked the Uchihas when Itachi was going to then Obito would be 20-21 while Itachi was 13 and had just gotten MS recently. Think the ages are about right but Obito would be much stronger than Itachi at that time.
