Didn't you hear? The manga is bullshit. The movies are obviously canon now.The movies aren't canon. End of discussion.
Didn't you hear? The manga is bullshit. The movies are obviously canon now.The movies aren't canon. End of discussion.
Oh I stand corrected then. The movies are canon. Marineford is bullshit.Didn't you hear? The manga is bullshit. The movies are obviously canon now.
You with your endless manga and anime bullshit. Has nothing to do with it whatsoever. Why does it matter that there isn't a place in the timeline that it happened ? Oda decided that it was there anyway, not you, ODA ! So you can whine as much as you like, but if Oda says it was the 7th shichibukai who cut of Z's arm and he was hired during the timeskip. Then that is the information I will remember, not if you can live with the fact that Toei made a gap in the anime to place it in the timeline.Show me one manga scan indicating any of that is canon? Oh right, didn't think so.
Film Z isn't canon, end of story.
Oh and who the hell are you Mr. Movie Authority ?The movies aren't canon. End of discussion.
So if you want to give your five cents then don't chicken out by telling him to listen to somebody who can't explain what he is stating.@OP, listen to Riker.
The information about Shiki in Strong World and the information about the 7th Shichibukai in Film Z are the only canon parts of the One Piece movies since the don't fit anywhere in the timeline. So if you want to give your five cents then don't chicken out by telling him to listen to somebody who can't explain what he is stating.
Just answer me this without sounding like the biggest hypocrite in the world:
1) Why is movie Oda any different from Manga Oda ?
2) Does that make information about Shiki and the 7th Shichibukai any less true ?
Yeah well duh, I give a rats ass if the information about the Sanji vs Binz fight is cannon ot not. Stuff that is important to the current timeline in the manga is what its all about. The information about Shiki in Strong World and the information about the 7th Shichibukai in Film Z are the only canon parts of the One Piece movies since the don't fit anywhere in the timeline.
What happened in Film Z isn't canon. Luffy has never met Z. Luffy has never fought Z. The Strawhats have never met Kuzan after the timeskip. They have never encountered the Dyna Rocks. That's what we've been talking about this entire time. Sure, background information like Z being a former Admiral is canon, but the movie itself is not. Pretty sure everyone knows this.Yeah well duh, I give a rats ass if the information about the Sanji vs Binz fight is cannon ot not. Stuff that is important to the current timeline in the manga is what its all about.
If Luffy is escaping Impel Down, I find it interesting that Shiki was the first to do it and how he did it.
If the 7th shichibukai will appear, we know when he joined, that he has a cutting ability and is strong enough to rob an former admiral of his arm.
And like that there are more little hints Oda dropped, THAT is what is Canon, it's not made up by some guy in the editing room.
Ah so basically what you're saying is you're right the information that Oda gave is canon but you just don't want to admit it after making a big ass fuss about it.What happened in Film Z isn't canon. Pretty sure everyone knows this.
There is no movie Oda and manga Oda, but the manga is separate from the movies in that the manga is ultimately canon, wholly canon, while the movies are not. Anyone with half of a brain can understand this but you.
Yeah no. I never said information Oda gave us can't be canon, I'm saying it's impossible for the movie itself to be canon.Ah so basically what you're saying is you're right the information that Oda gave is canon but you just don't want to admit it after making a big ass fuss about it.
How come that Kuzan's wardrobe was exactly the same in the manga after he appeared in the movie ?
It's stuff like that which make it interesting if Oda worked on a movie or not. Because If he did you can bet your ass on it that it will be continued in the manga.
Also how can you admit to Z and the dyna rocks being canon yet Luffy never met them ? How vague are your own made up rules ? Where do you draw the line ? Why is Z canon but why is Luffy meeting him not ? If Luffy never met him he wouldn't be in a movie and therefore not canon according to you I guess ?
Also I need to thank Ƈhrσllo Lucilfer for bringing the following link to my attention.
It gives the exact definition of canon on that site. Although he thought he would prove me wrong with that, the very first sentence on that site is: "Whenever an author writes a series, everything he or she wrote themselves is considered canon. To put it more simply, canon is the original material that was stated by the writer in their work.""
I know that is basically what I was saying all along, but I think you can use this to explain the rules to yourself and decide again what is canon and what is not, because you're own made-up rules don't fly here.

Short version: Made by Oda = CANON
LOOL you neg.rep'd me XDSo if you want to give your five cents then don't chicken out by telling him to listen to somebody who can't explain what he is stating.

Don't bother, a brick wall will get it faster than he will.LOOL you neg.rep'd me XD
1.) Characters are canon (i.e Zephyr) but the plot isn't. (i.e. him blowing up two of the three endpoints in the NW). Do you really think Oda would share something so important in a movie but not in his own manga? Until the OP manga makes a reference about Zephyr blowing up 2 of the 3 endpoints in the NW & specifically states that Luffy & his crew stopped him from blowing the last one, it's filler for now.
2.) Shiki getting defeated by pre-TS Luffy is canon to you? Ofc Shiki's character is canon but the plot of the Strong World is filler & about the 7th shichibukai, it's only related to Zeyphr's character not the plot of film z. Zephyr & Shiki are both canon characters but the plot involving them in film z/strong world is non-canon material.
I hope it makes sense to you, information is canon but the movie it took place in isn't.Yeah no. I never said information Oda gave us can't be canon, I'm saying it's impossible for the movie itself to be canon.
You claim Kuzan's wardrobe of all things make it canon, what about the fact that Brannew is a commodore in the manga, but not in the film? What about the fact that the Marine Headquarters are in a different location in the manga than in the film?
The events of the movie is non-canon. The background information is because that actually has a place in the movie. Luffy has never met Z, or seen the Dyna Rocks, or met Kuzan after the timeskip, because it is impossible for these events, as they have happened in the movie, to be present in the manga. If the main source of canon cannot house it, it's either non-canon or a plot hole. Simple as that.
read above, as for point 1, it was Oda who shared that in the movie, it was his damn movie. Why would it be in the manga if it isn't relevant at all at this point, besides it was already in the movie.LOOL you neg.rep'd me XD

*Waits for Love Cook to understand that the background information that set up Film Z is canon because it fits into the story, but the actual events of the movie aren't since they don't fit into the story.*I hope it makes sense to you, information is canon but the movie it took place in isn't.
I think that everyone with a working brain would call that canon.
read above, as for point 1, it was Oda who shared that in the movie, it was his damn movie. Why would it be in the manga if it isn't relevant at all at this point, besides it was already in the movie.
point 2 was hard to follow because you can't properly string a few words together into a sentence. But why would the character be canon but not the event. Strong World was literally written by Oda and even got an introduction chapter. So of all things Strong World hits every criteria on the retarded checklist of Rainman on the previous page, but yet you refuse to accept that it's canon.
I think this pretty much confirms that the plot involving them is canon as dickholes:

Also why would Oda reveal so much details about the 7th shichibukai and restrict himself from making a character that doesn't already exist in his manga (in the future): 1) has been pirate for long time 2) Cut Z's arm 3) Has to posses enormous strength 4) Has a cutting ability 5) Joined during timeskip.
Why do you view information like that as non-canon when it's almost like Oda himself whispers in your ear. Listen up guys I'm going to drop some hints now during the movie.
If the movies are filled with important stuff like that, and made by Oda, why can't you agree that it is canon then ? I agree that the first 8 or 9 are bullshit and remakes, but the last two are literally made by the same guy who draws the chapter every week and it was his purpose to be an addition to the story that is going on right now.
It's almost like the cover pages on each chapter. I've also heard people say that those aren't canon either. I just can't wrap my head around narrow-mindedness like that.
Also I neg-repped you because I thought you wouldn't return to this thread after sprouting your non-sense without argumentation. The fact that you didn't leave any argumentation would be reason enough actually.
You and your flippin story, I said a million time that I really care a rats ass about if it would fit in the story or not. You can call it a plot hole or whatever you like, call the arc Toei made filler go ahead.*Waits for Love Cook to understand that the background information that set up Film Z is canon because it fits into the story, but the actual events of the movie aren't since they don't fit into the story.*
*Flying cars, cure for cancer, time travel and a Hispanic president of America happen first*
*Eren gets to his basement, Timmy Turner hooks up with Trixie Tang, One Piece is found, Vegeta surpasses Goku, humans encounter aliens and inhabit a new planet, and Love Cook still doesn't get it.*You and your flippin story, I said a million time that I really care a rats ass about if it would fit in the story or not. You can call it a plot hole or whatever you like, call the arc Toei made filler go ahead.
The only thing I care about is the information that Oda reveals in both of those movies, which make them stand out of the previous 8 or 9 is enough to call it canon since Oda directly worked and written those movies.
If you want to deny that, go ahead but don't act like I'm the crazy one. You just are unable to give one good reason why the material from Oda in a movie is any less canon then when he puts it in the manga.
Even by the actual dictionary definition of canon I posted earlier I'm right. You're one step away of arguing against Oda that he never written those things, that it is total bullshit because you can't make sense of it all. It's like you're trapped in a cage and you refuse to look out because your narcissist and arrogant attitude don't believe that you can be wrong.
But you've been wrong for two pages. Or worse you knew you were wrong on page 1 and you are ashamed to admit it.
