How is itachi torturing sasuke justified?

no. there is no goddamn excuse for this. NO EXCUSE for this savagery. NONE. i dont have to sit here and stand for this so im gonna break it down for you fine people.

that night, sasuke lost everything. his entire family. but as one final stab in the throat, a psychopath came along and brutally and horrifically started torturing his 7 year old mind for at least 24 hours. this was done by a genjutsu designed to replay the massacre in his mind over. and over. and over.
and over.
and over.
and over.
by my math, meant he watched his family die about 25 times.
to make matters worse, itachi then began mocking him, breaking down his sanity, making him feel small and insignificant and not worth his time, and not deserving of a quick death.

itachi, knowing full well this is not the truth at all and won't work, told sasuke to seek power by killing his friends in cold blood. meaning itachi coldly and emotionlessly asked his brother to kill people and he didnt care how or who, as long as it furthered his agenda. he completed his corruption by basically leaving sasuke to become power hungry, hateful, depressed, emotionless, emotionally and socially crippled and broken, psychologically and mentally shattered, vengeful, selfish, arrogant and a broken human being. it was all from the torture because i can confirm sasuke was none of these things before that.

then itachi left. sasuke festered for YEARS. for all itachi knows, sasuke had long since killed himself just to end the mental shattering and pain.
so when they meet again what does he do? ill tell you.
mocks and ignores sasuke. then breaks his wrist brutally, knowing full wel that at ANY TIME AT ALL, he can genjutsu sasuke to sleep peacefully. had he done so, ok. no harm no foul. but what does he do?
oh yeah. slowly physically torture him, beat him down, break his bones, mock him mentally and emotionally, degrade him, make him feel weak and hate-less. has sasuke suffered enough? no? ok. more mental rape for 24 hours
leaving sasuke in a possibly permanent coma he might never have awoken from.

that should help those pesky feelings of sanity happiness, kindness and empathy evaporate real quick.
all this right in front of another innocent genin kid who was probably traumatised for DAYS.

but its not enough.
he had the audacity to try and further manipulate and trick this boy, into thinking he did something he didnt ****in do (kill itachi), get called a hero for something he didnt do (kill oro and itachi), by a village that killed his family and even try to brainwash and mindwipe sasuke with KA when sasuke doesnt turn out how he wants. itachi thinks he can get away with lying to the world to boost up one person's ego?
sasuke, under Koto amatsukami brainwashing and mindwipe, will kill torture and murder. oh but its ok. its SANCTIONED murder. its ORDERED murder by the government. right. so much better.

the reason im so mad about this is mostly because hurting your family is unforgivable in my mind. hurting kids? worse. inflicting torture on innocents? even worse. and itachi covered all three in two scenes. fantastic.

you cant sneak shit past me kishimoto because i smell shit and i reel it back in. he took a huge shit on sasuke's sanity, sasuke's mind, sasuke's parents last wishes, konoha's limits and laws, and humanity/decency in general.

-Sasuke lost his family, but the only ones he had a connection to were Itachi, Mikoto, and Fugaku in that order. He just went to school and then came home to train even more to impress his father. He had a village backing him up afterwards to the point others were jealous, like Naruto. Lol
-According to the databook, Sasuke was 8.
-Itachi switched between random members and his family. There's no way to know how many times he saw "so and so" Uchiha fodder die. Either way, Sasuke saw this for 24 hours. I can only imagine how much worse it was for people to grow up during the shinobi wars and have to see corpses in real time lying there for the duration of it, whether that be months or however long.
-Itachi thought his plan would work but accounted for the possibility of failure. Hence multiple fail safes.
-All the Uchiha are arrogant and they have a right to be.
-Sasuke never contemplated suicide. Itachi actually gave him a goal so that wouldn't occur.
-The second time around, Itachi gave Sasuke two warnings and Sasuke ignored. Itachi has Kisame standing there, he's going to keep up his villain persona for as long as he can. This was mainly Sasuke's fault (though I understand his emotions and why both bros did what they did).
-Naruto wasn't traumatized for days by Itachi. What the...
-The coma wouldn't be permanent considering Sasuke at age 8 woke up within 2 weeks in a regular hospital setting the first time. Tsunade just made him wake up earlier.
-Sasuke would not kill and torture Konoha civilians if he had been KA'd. It's the opposite. Though, Itachi was glad that Sasuke hadn't been KA'd because he realized it was wrong and admitted that.

That's actually the one thing that makes me question whether or not Kishi knew what he was going to do with Itachi in Part 1. However, if I have to try to rationalize it, I think that Itachi expected Sasuke to hate him so much that he would go about getting his revenge without following Itachi's instructions, which is what happened. I just don't think that Itachi expected Sasuke to become evil afterwards. He didn't think that Sasuke would ever learn the truth.

I think he knew what he was going to do. Mainly because he wrote in the 2nd databook that was released during pt1 that a) Itachi was a kind person at one point but changed (people don't just randomly change), b) He was a good brother at one point (contradicts what Itachi said about faking that to see Sasuke's capacity), c) Itachi is merciful (if you want a guy to be the epitome of evil, that's not what you write about them), and d) His true objective doesn't align with Akatsuki's motives. Plus, he'd only been on one S-rank mission (that was stated in the first databook).

Yeah I guess those last two points (especially C) kind of hint at Itachi's true nature. I wouldn't say that what he did was justified in regards to Tsukiyomi, but it is understandable as to why he did it. He wasn't sure how much would be enough to get his plan to work (he's not Sasuke after all, he could only guess). And, he's pretty desensitized to death so it was probably harder for him to know how much was overkill and how much wasn't.

torturing him wasnt necessary, if he wanted sasuke stronger he should have told him to embrace love and friendship. where did itachi get it in his head that the only way to make someone stronger is to torture them and make them embrace hate and revenge?
