[Discussion] Why didn't Garp save Ace?

Thanks to him and BB the town on Bannaro was destroyed.

the people were gone. Ace is not some nutjob who would turn a town's inhabitants into ashes

Like Ace would ever burn down towns that consist of outside people who have nothing to do with pirates and their business

You don't know that. This is the same guy who said himself he'd kill civilians who talked bad about Roger and him if he could.


The same guy who wanted to kill WB for no reason and attacked Jimbei just because he didn't tell him where to find WB.

The same guy who sunk a fleet of ships, not caring about who was on board.

Ace attacked Teach and his crew before everyone evacuated Bannaro, he didn't give damn about the civilians.

So harming people is bad only when it's outside of your cause? You know what else happened within causes? The Holocaust and 9/11. Ace hurt people. He has no qualms with hurting people

honestly I know Ace was not a saint but I can't believe he would kill random people who are living their lives -non pirates-

What's the difference? Attacking innocent people, attacking other pirates, they're just two different shades of grey when you're also a pirate. Ace ain't as friendly and nice as you're trying to make him out to be, at the end of the day, he was still a criminal who paid for his crimes. No amount of sad back story, no amount of "Hey nice to meet yas", no amount of protagonist portrayal is ever gonna change that.
