I don't like the way I wrote this chapter at all, but enjoy. :|
Riku felt the thirst from Soul Eater, felt it surging through his arm. He could feel the throbbing in his arm as its power was being released but still could see nothing beyond a smoky haze. Soul Eater suddenly stopped its frantic surge, but his arm still pulsed painfully.
He continued falling, when Soul Eater quickly lunged forward, as if it had been so focused in transferring power that it had forgotten to save its wielder. The blade plunged deeply into the mountainside. And he put his other hand onto the mountain as well. And he suddenly noticed that the arm, the arm that had been hurting so badly, hadn’t been wielding Soul Eater, and yet...
The arm was now bestial, a scaled arm with large claws dug deeply into the mountain. Near that arms shoulder, he could see a small glimpse of a fire, a purplish fire... lavender fire? The burn from before perhaps? Had it done more than simply hurt him?
Without much time to think, Riku pulled his blade out of the mountain and lunged himself up with the mutated arm, which moved at such an unbelievably fast pace.
Suddenly, he wasn’t focused on Akatsuki at all, he wasn’t here to protect Kirabi.
He was there to kill on sight.
~
Kirabi decided to pretend as if nothing had happened and lunged out at a grinning Fumio quickly, “I was hoping you’d call on the 8 tails,” he taunted, only a moment before moving as quickly as he could to a higher point.
Kirabi decided not to answer, but instead charged lightning around his body as he rammed himself into... no... through the ledge that Fumio stood atop.
Fumio quickly jumped to the opposite mountain as boulders fell over the side of the plateau, something that would surely cause a bit of difficulty for the kid falling down there, if he hadn’t already slammed onto the ground. Kirabi stopped his quick lunge only moments before falling down the mountainside, quickly turned, and darted towards Fumio.
“I think that’s quite enough of play time,” Fumio said calmly, making several handsigns and finally placing his palm on the ground, “Hokage-style Sixty-year-old Technique - Kakuan Entering Society with Bliss-bringing Hands.”
~
Riku landed on the top of the mountain, watching as wooden pillars rose up in a circle around Killer Bee’s beast form. The pillars, on the sides facing Kirabi, had spikes sticking out from them. Kirabi was standing on two legs now, eyeing Fumio, who had a blue line coming from his hand, and was frozen in place, be it from surprise or from whatever this jutsu was. The blue line coming from Fumio’s hand extended out towards Kirabi, connecting with his heart.
Fumio turned his head to the side, grinning at the sight of Riku and then raising an eyebrow at the larger, scaled arm, “Your Tenzu’s target right? Sucks to be you, that guy has too much power for his own-”
Fumio was cut only slightly short as Riku, with a guttural growl, moved incredibly quickly to the side of Fumio, slashing across with his clawed arm. Fumio turned, still keeping the line of chakra running towards Killer Bee, and grabbed Riku’s arm, pushing it upwards throwing the boy entirely off balance. Riku flipped over, his scaled hand making him move more quickly, and placed that very hand on the ground. Twisting that arm, he pushed it against the ground, launching himself into the sky as well as in a flip, overturning him to put his feet under him again.
“Not bad... not bad at all,” Fumio said as he slammed his free hand into a fist. As he did so, a blast of lightning came down towards Riku.
Without enough time to dodge nor anything to jump off of, Riku, though he had no idea why, instinctively pushed his deformed arm up into the sky as it absorbed the lightning. Fumio smiled again, immediately realizing what this was.
Riku fell to the ground quickly now, slowly losing his ability to control his actions. He looked down on Kirabi, almost having forgotten that he was there. Kirabi wasn’t in his bestial form anymore, but rather he was panting heavily, on the ground struggling to try and take out his weapon. On instinct rather than thought, once he landed, Riku rushed towards Killer Bee in an attempt to free him. He ran through the circle of pillars and was immediately frozen in place as the blue chakra line branched into a smaller line, connecting to Riku as well.
Riku could feel the chakra, the life, being sucked out of him, the pain in his arm from its mutation was now gone, but replaced by a greater pain.
He breathed heavily now, as Fumio smiled down on him, “Like it? A little something I picked up while in the Leaf Village. Comes in pretty handy when catching bijuu, kind of why I’m in charge of it. I expanded on the jutsu a bit, works on more than just bijuu now.”
Picked up? Riku thought, regaining the ability to think while the bestial state ended. If he remembered correctly, wood was a kekkei genkai, not something you “pick up.” Riku looked up, his vision blurred to a smiling Fumio.
“I believe that the chakra is just about sucked out of Kirabi, better get him before he figures out how to get out of there,” Fumio mumbled.
He disappeared, and when he reappeared, Kirabi was slung over his shoulder. The chakra line was gone for a moment when he disappeared, just enough for Riku to roll out of it, still panting heavily.
Fumio shot a curious look towards Riku, “You still have enough chakra to move?” He said, then gave out a small sigh, “No matter, you still don’t have enough to fight do you?”
Riku didn’t answer, but rather took his blade out.
Fumio’s sword extended from his sleeve, and suddenly he put one foot backwards as the mountain began to shake, “An Earthquake?” he questioned.
Riku shook his head and began speaking, to himself rather than Fumio, “No... there’s chakra mixed in,” he said, not quite sure how he could tell. His eyes suddenly widened, “The mountain, the whole thing, is-”
Before he could utter the words, he was already correct. The mountain was exploding.
