This is something that I see every now and then. That cutting off Orochimaru's head would defeat him. However, I think it's incredibly unlikely. We can go by two things.
First, his portrayal. Genius. Immortal. Scientist. Researcher. Et cetera. If one of Orochimaru's goals is immortality and he's done numerous successful experiments on his own body, it is unlikely he'd let the possibility of decapitation go unnoticed.
Second, is this not a solution?
But, of course, instead of reconnecting the torso, the head and body would be reconnected.
