If Naruto does exactly the same shape transformation as chidori but he infuses wind instead of lightning:

Would the piercing ability of this wind chidori be better than the normal chidori? Since wind cuts better than lightning

FAQ
Q.Why would he do such a thing, rasen shuriken is much better?
A. Because he can

Q. Why do you call it chidori? It wouldn't be chidori if it was infused with wind instead of lightning.
A. Lack of a better name

Chidori is just a Failed Rasengan so it would have neither the shape, form or look.

Isn't chidori, rasengan infused with lightning.

I thought lightning was better at piercing while wind was better at slicing.

Then it wouldn't be chidori.

This is a good point. Chidori (1000 chirping birds) got it's name from the sound the lightning makes. I doubt a wind varient would make the same sound so it would look and be named differently I would guess.

As to which would be stronger, Probably the chidori as wind is better at slicing while Lightning is better at piercing.

I think in terms of "cutting" ability, wind is better but in terms of "stabbing/piercing" ability, lightning is better. If that makes any sense.

As to which would be stronger, Probably the wind version as wind is lightning's weakness.

How is that a good point? It's just semantics, completely irrelevant. The question was whether a wind variety of chidori would pierce better

It wouldn't be chidori, but theoretically said jutsu would cut more than regular chidori.

Cutting=/=Piercing
No, like Castle said: Chidori gained it's name from the screeching lightning sound, and it's compared to a thousand birds. It would pierce less than Chidori since lightning does a better job at that. But I think Chidori-like wind technique is more badass imo.

Wind: Cutting
Lightning: Piercing

because you called it "wind chidori" that is the point. It isn't irrelevant. And I still answered your quiestion. I also edited my original post to make it more clear

It makes some sense. Then a raiton sword should not be able to block a fuuton sword

if it was made of wind you would have to use it more like a cutlass or slashing oriented sowrd than a spear, its already been stated the lighening compliments the speed, piercing movement of the chidori
