Read the FAQ

Yes it is

are you trying to pick a fight with me or something? I read your faq. You didn't have #2 there when I read it. You just addeded it there when others started to mention the same thing I posted. But you are somewhat coming down on me like I didn't read your original post.

But whatever floats your boat dude. I gave my opinion which isn't any different then the others you are answering, so why the additude with my post?

Chidori is a failed experiment of infusion of element in Rasengan...

Kakashi tried to infuse Lightning with Rasengan but Lightning distorted the spherical form of Rasengan, making it of no use as a simple thrust... So Kakashi tried shape manipulation, forming a shape of a lightning discharge that could pierce through objects if moved at high speed...

Yeah I remember hearing that too. Was that mentioned in the manga? I remember Gai commenting that Chidori meant 1000 chirping birds during the Chuunin Exams when Sasuke first used it. But later heard the explination you just provided.

No but gai did say kakashi changed the name to Raikiri after cutting a lightning bolt with it though the Databook show Raikiri as advanced form of chidori with more concentrated chakra.Chidori being A rank Raikiri being S rank

Calm down now. Why a chidori is called "chidori" is not the point of this thread, it is irrelevant. If you want to argue semantics, make a new thread. I told you to read the faq since I made a late edit, so this unneeded discussion would die. The others I answered to made points to how fuuton is better or worse than raiton.

The question why Naruto would try to do this jutsu since he already got FRS is also not the point, hence why it's in the faq.

Wind can't be shaped in Lightning...
So, there's and should not be any concept of Wind Release: Chidori...

Either way; it'd make one hell of a Jutsu!

Wind should be able to be shaped around your hand the same way as with lightning, just like it can be shaped around a sword. It may not look the same and wind shape=/= lightning shape, but the chakra output of the user should be fairly similar while changing the shape.

It would probably be similar to a chakra scalpel except it would cut everything instead of just internally.

How is that a good point? It's just semantics, completely irrelevant. The question was whether a wind variety of chidori would pierce better
No it wouldn't, it wouldn't even work as Chidori only works because of the lightning nature, it wouldn't have any kind of form if he made it just like one would make a lightning based Chidori. The wind would just scatter everywhere.
