In somewhat of a chronological order*
Itachi entered the ninja academy at age 6... It only took him one year to graduate from the academy, and progressed completely on his own without need of much care from his instructor.

A 7 year old possessing the wisdom and intelligence of a Hokage
Itachi mastered the sharingan at age 8, a much younger age then Indra's reincarnation; Sasuke.

I mean... let's be honest here. There is arguably no better written character then Itachi Uchiha – The greatest shinobi in NV history. No need to reiterate what Kishi has provided and made clear for us. Just look at the guy's resume. I'm outta here. U_U
