I think the official trans was: "Obito .. he wanted to become the Hokage ... to me its nothing but awesome" or something like that. Which kinda suggests that Naruto was referring to Kid Obito .... not unlike how Sasuke was referring to Pre Massacre Itachi.

It's not, but alright.
let me ask naruto fans a Q
does Hokage is the diff btn good and bad and everything for naruto
becoz he bashed obito when he bashed hokage post and wanked him on pro hokage comments :|
Well I would direct you to two facts:
1. What Hokage means to Naruto: To an younger Naruto it meant the means to be recognized in compensation for the neglect he received. But now he considers the title Hokage not only a position but a responsibility to protect and lead other at own personal cost. To him being Hokage is being a person who is willing to do everything to protect his people .... so being Hokage in his eyes not just being Official signing papers.
2. Two sides of Obito: Naruto seemed to refer to as a split personality .... His masked self and Obito. (Latest example is when he casually said that Obito was no longer wearing his mask)
Naruto never forgave tobi/masked man....... Rofl.
urrm he said he "was perfect", he was obv talking about itachi before the massacre, the brother he once looked up to, adored and loved.Itachi himself admitted that he was wrong to kill uchiha Ichizoku. He outright accepted that he made sasuke a bad guy. That's why he entrusted sasuke to Naruto, he knew that naruto would succeed in changing sasuke. Meanwhile sasuke called itachi a perfect guy without realizing how wrong he was :|
1.Not being talked about.
Naruto was ok with Itachi torturing Sasuke and Uchiha massacre
2.and dats an easy way to forgive someone and run away from reality
OT:Why do u care so much about what others r Saying about Naruto op that it lead u too make a ridiculous thread imo?
