[Discussion] Was Naruto talking about Hinata?

Depends on how you look at it, nothing really proves Hinata or Sakura. Although Sakura does seem to favor Kushina and Naruto said everything isn't going as planned..I dare say it pushes move for Hinata being Naruto girl of interest. =D

Naruto hasn't acknowledged Hinata love for him at all but he does considered Hinata to be a close friend and yeah you're right we just to wait and see what Kishimoto will decide, it's good to know that there are Senseable Naruto X Hinata Fans like you here on NarutoBase.

Yea your right he hasn't acknowledge her love for him but you see the progression from part 1 to Shippuden and then from the pain arc and from there until now it's progressing becoming a little more evident each time but thanks I appreciate that.

This is why I stay out of the pairing threads when I can. NaruHina fans, most at least, denied up and down Kishi wrote parallels between Sakura and Kushina even though it was blatantly obvious. Now a chapter comes out where there is legit grey colored into what used to be something black and white and they use it to make their case. This is a total misuse of logic, in that the people arguing it pick and choose which premises are sound and discard the others until they can use them to make their points.

All that said, I really thought his answer was interesting. It either means he's given up on Sakura, which breaks traditional Shonen rules, and Hinata's actions got through to him. Or it means that he hasn't given up, but knows Sasuke is still in his way. Good usage of conflict by Kishimoto today.

Not speaking on all cause they're a lot of base folks that make a lot of sense but all the rest try to make sense of a story that they have no control over or legitimate say so in what happens when you just need to let it play out and take it as it is lol.

Yea, but he has accepted that she's still in love with Sasuke. He has no illusions about one day being with her so he could very well mean that hasn't found 'the one' yet....that is, IF he wasn't talking about Hinaa.....I'll wait until Viz comes out to form a concrete opinion.

Also, his feelings for Sakura are based on their having a need for Sasuke's acknowledgement in common (refer to chapter where he transforms into Sasuke and tried to talk to Sakura.)....don't be surprised if hose feelings fade after he gets Sasuke's acknowledgement.

Also, when Kushina told Nads to find a girl like her, do you really think she meant find someone with her flaws (i.e., bad tempter, crudeness, etc?) I think she meant someone kind and caring, one who believed in his dreams, one who would support him and give her life for him if necessary.....ALL Hinata honey.....ALL Hinata....I know most of you guys are teenagers so I guess you would take Kushina's dying words at face value....bu kishi is an adult imparting the words of an adult woman who has lived life.....Kushina's words are far deeper than find someone who has a similar temperament.

well you seem to forget the Fact that Naruto has always been in love with Sakura ever since the beginning of the Series what's more Naruto's love for Sakura has nothing to do with Sasuke at all, you also seem to forget that Sakura is a kind and caring person and that Sakura has risked her life to protect Naruto before hell she even did all she could to keep Naruto from dying after Kurama got extracted from him and she does support Naruto and she also supports his Dream to become Hokage, so in the end Sakura is a lot like Kushina in both the Pros and the Cons.

Re-read the chapter I referenced and come back to me. Naruto CLEARLY says he realized WHY he likes Sakura so much after she made he "I just want you to accept me Sasuke" statement.

Give me one example of when Sakura risked her life to save Naruto to the degree Hinata has. She threw a kunai from a distance to stop him from falling in the forest of death. She chased him when he turned into he 4 tails (ok, I guess that was kind of a risk), and of course she helped keep his heart pumping after he lost Kurama...no risk to her there though....can't think of anything else....at least nothing else that compares to what Hinata did....she HAS, however, put her life on the line for SASUKE as she did when Gaara was about to attack him.

Don't get me wrong, there's no question in my mind that Sakura cares very deeply for Naruto. But those feelings haven't evolved into romantic love. It's more platonic love IMO. But, eh, only Kishi knows. I'm sick and tired of him trolling us. That's why I sought refuge with a pairing that I know won't happen. At least I can have fun with the idea of SasuHina without the emotional ups and downs of Kishi's trolling. LOL

I do acknowledge the the fact that he was talking about Sakura but thing is that in the very next page Naruto tells to him mother what he did. However, in MS the meaning is slighty different suggesting that he talks about other things that he still hasn't fullfilled while in MP it's like some of his choices go against those of her mother, with one of these choices being the relationship. To put it more bluntly, MS talks with more generosities while MP at first suggests Narusaku, then his next quote could mean that he opposes to that. Seriously, you can't conclude anything based on that, it's just too amiguous so that you can't reach a conclusion, it's only so that you can spice up things. There are too many ifs and "based on this translation".

You should be careful for your own sake lol. Having bottled up anger about an ANIME pairing?! Just chill out man, the chances of Naruto getting with Hinata or Sakura is pretty much 50/50, no matter how you put it. There's obvious evidence that he likes Sakura, and him wanting to be with Sakura, but there is also obvious evidence that he can be with Hinata as well, so neither fan is delusional. The point is, he can do anything he wants there is no clear evidence yet, so no one is delusional. If it was obvious which one he will choose then Kishimoto wouldn't be a good author.

Besides that if NaruHina does happen, you've set yourself up for utter disappointment, given that you're getting angry at a pairing, and I'm sure some NaruHina fans that you've pissed off along the way will rub salt on the burn if it happens, so for your sake I'd be a little bit more open minded to both pairings.
