Its left wide open I interpret it as he hasnt found a girl yet period. Its wide open who he ends up with. Both relationships are one way. Just have to wait and see what happens.

I agree that Kishimoto will keep the relationships vague until the end (even then he will and probably only hint to something possible at the very end).
When reading this chapter the first thing I thought when Naruto said: "Not everything's going the way mum told me.." he was referring to a few things in general (not just women). Such as failing his classes and being around Jiraiya (who gambled and drank- not that Jiraiya was a bad influence on him at all xD)
In regards to pairings though, Sakura has been indirectly/directly compared to Kushina in terms of personality and hot-headedness. However, "Mom told me to find a girl as great as she is".
Sakura is not the only girl Naruto considers to be great.
Naruto: "I never knew Hinata was this incredible" (chp 80 p.2)
Naruto to Hinata: "Don't get so down on yourself, You're strong!" (chp 559 p.6)
Naruto considers Hinata as well as Sakura to be great, power ninja. This chapter was left open for interpretation for a reason, to keep us hooked and waiting for more answers.
I'm not sure whether he meant Hinata or Sakura (maybe he meant Sasuke! that's would be something different from what his mum told him too) I am confused though, if he wanted to say Sakura why didn't he? he already told his dad they were dating so why not say "someone as great as mum...that's Sakura"? (the answer is probably because kishi's a troll and likes to build us up for the next chapter).

I feel like most readers of this manga are children who are caught into transferring manga facts into their own feeling. Otherwise, it is obvious that Sakura is not cut to be Naruto's wife. She has said so many things that disqualify her for that purpose. In my opinion, Kishi has to be really confused to make that happen for many reason:
(1) Sakura has already declared that her soul and everything is for Sasuke. She said it in part 1.
(2) The main reason why it matter for Naruto to save Sasuke is so that Sakura can be with Sasuke. If Naruto takes Sakura, it would be going back on his word, thus violate his own Ninja way.
(3) At Kage summit, Naruto proved to Sakura that he was not a kid anymore. There, by telling frankly that Sakura was lying, he also showed to her that she cannot take him lightly. Naruto showed to her that he is not a day dreamer anymore.
(4) During the war arc, many thing has happen to show that Sakura is beyond redemption for loving Sasuke. It is true that Sakura was compared to Kushina, but I dare any of those who use that argument to bring Sakura's scene when Sasuke came on the battlefield. How did Sakura behave show that she cannot be Naruto's partner.
(5) Finally, unlike Kushina, Sakura has been portrayed as a Kunoichi in the same vain as Tsunade. She is not cut to be a wife in general. Typical kunoichi that are cut for being wives are Kurenai, and better Hinata. Despite being Ninja, they have been portrayed with a second womanly behavior that said they are also wives.
So, for the sake of securing his dollars, Kishi may not do any clear pairing before the end of the manga, but I am convince that if any pairing is done, Sakura may not even have a match. Clearly, it is Naruto and Hinata. Deal with it, and stop being emotional!

You're the one getting manga facts wrong.Naruto deosn't want to bring Sasuke back so Sasuke can be with Sakura.He wants to bring Sasuke back because they are friends.His promise to Sakura to bring him back is even more of a reason why Naruto wants to bring him back.It's not just for Sakura.
Naruto has said How can he be Hokage if he can't even save one friend? It's about more than his promise to Sakura.Sai and Shizune have said it.
And Naruto has admitted to Sai that he likes Sakura and hasn't told her because he hasn't completed his promise.

I already know that chapter by heart,as i do with every other chapter.I understand the manga better than most people.
Naruto said he likes people like Hinata.I know Hinata has been a friend of his since Neji Vs Hinata,what i was saying is that unlike with Sakura,Naruto didn't care about Hinata before the Chunin exams.They spent years together in the Academy and when we first see Hinata,he refers to her as a weirdo,while he's always like Sakura from the Academy til now he has liked her.
There have spent alot of time together,whereas Hinata just alittle.Naruto and Sakura have both been shown to like each other aswell.Hinata is in the friendzone.

OMG, I can't believe ppl take the Naruto saying Sakura is a gf thing seriously. He was saying it to look cool in front of his father. It's a common thing with young boys. An example is in Dragon Ball Z battle of the gods when Trunks lied about Pilaf or Garlic Jr's or whomever's female minion being his gf. It was to look cool. If his dad asked if Hinata was his gf, Naruto would've probably lied then too. It's all to look cool in front of his dad who he's just meeting for the 2nd time in his life.
And I'll say this- if Kishi has Hinata put her damn life on the line to save him and he still chooses Sakura, I can't imagine the man hate that would cause. LOL. I can picture it now-- Hinata did so much for Naruto but he chose that ***** Sakura. "Men ain't shit"/ LAWWDDD!!!

You can say what you want, but clearly, you are ignoring a lot of facts. You are forgetting the following:
On Sakura's choice
(1) Until Sasuke left Konoha, Naruto was called an annoying person by Sakura,
(2) Sakura promised her soul to Sasuke, not so that Sasuke can stay with her, but because she really wanted Sasuke,
(3) After Sasuke tried to Kill Sakura, she still loved him so much that she couldn't poison him
(4) When Sasuke appeared on the war arc battlefield, Sakura completely froze for a minute
(5) In the entire battle against Kaguya and Madara, Sasuke worried only about Sasuke, while getting her ass saved by Naruto
On Naruto
(1) First, the only reason Naruto was after Sakura was to look cool and also has a rivalry with Sasuke,
(2) During the chinin exam, Naruto interact more with Hinata than with Sakura, and in a very meaningful way
(3) During and after Chunin exam, Naruto has shown zero interest in Sakura. Basically, Naruto was able to grow out of his childish behavior.
(4) In the Kage summit arc, Naruto proved to Sakura that he understand her very well, and that she cannot lie to him and to herself. this was a very accurate measurement of Sakura's feeling. This was pretty much the end of Sakura x Naruto.
(5) During the war, there was more meaningful Naruto x Hinata panels, and Sakura was almost forgotten until Minato appeared. Basically, Minato's comparison has nothing to do with Naruto, and Naruto's answer was very clear - that is Sakura is kind of a girlfriend, which is true simply because Sakura is his friend, and she is a girl.
Hinata towards Naruto
(1) She loves Naruto, and she is a very considerate and wise person. Her feeling for Naruto has no boundary, and she did not need to be in the same team as Naruto to prepare ointment for naruto during Chunin exam. She is the first human in Konoha, who expressed a desire to know Naruto, even as a child.
(2) Hinata has placed her life on the line for Naruto already twice, and declare her love officially,
(3) During the whole manga, the parallel between Hinata and Naruto remains constant and consistent more than any parallel. The implicit pairing made by Kishi has grown interestingly until Hinata stood hand in hand with Naruto. This was clear, and was even Naruto received his blessing from the heir to Huyaga - Neiji.
This being said, apart from people with twisted mind, and if Kishi is not playing with the mind of the reader, the fact are clear. Pairing Naruto with Hinata is the right thing that a good father would do for this manga. Minato's statement is useless, because he does not know anything about Naruto. In my opinion, people who thing Sakura should be paired with Naruto after devoting herself to Sasuke are people who have heart problem.
I can't believe this poll, I don't understand how you people interpreted these panels to mean he was talking about Hinata. Come on, get real. Sakura had been there since day 1, Naruto has always liked her, he even tools Sai he liked her. Also, why would kishimoto make a statement, twice, about naruto finding a girl like his mom, if that's not what he wanted to do? Hinata is 1000% NOTHING like kushina, sakura is. Naruto never loved Hinata, they held hands for 2 seconds so he could give her chakra, big deal. She saved him from pain, yes, but he still doesn't love her. He saw how she changed obviously, he probably thinks highly of her, but come on, it's the same damn thing as naruto and sakura but reversed. Naruto likes sakura, but sakura likes another guy, sasuke. Hinata likes naruto, but naruto likes another girl, sakura. Sasuke likes no one. Honestly there's probably not going to be any pairings. That's what I believe. But if there were, it would have to come down to sakura falling for naruto and choosing him over sasuke. Naruto won't change his mind about sakura, it's up to sakura to change her mind. Naruto never changes his mind, about anything, ever. That's how kishi wrote him, and he's not going to change who naruto likes after almost 700 chapters, so get over it.

Hmmm....sounds like he's talking about Sakura here after all honestly.
But he's not saying he still likes her or has chosen her.....I take it as him saying he liked Sakura who is supposedly like Kushina, but things aren't working out....their relationship hasn't moved in a romantic direction and she loves someone else. So he failed at that part but is working hard to fulfill all her other dreams for him.
Sounds to me that Naruto took the L and is ready to move on. It didn't work out and life goes on.
Seems to me that the door is WIDE OPEN for NaruHina.

As you can see, in the beginning of your post, you claim that the reaction of people is not normal, and they are misinterpreting the facts. Then, after reading VIZ's scan, realizing that the people are right, you choose to believe the opposite fact. This is what is called choosing to believe what you want to believe. So, if you can choose to believe what is not in the scan, why do you argue against those who believe what the scan refer to.
As you can see, Kushina wanted Naruto to find a woman like her, and Naruto is saying he actually found someone else. This is true on the shinobi feats, but as a wife, Hinata is more like Kushina than Sakura. She choose Naruto when he was alone just as Kushina chose Minato when he was alone. Similarly, when Hinata was still a cast away, Naruto is the only one who looked upon her. See, Hinata x Naruto is exactly the same as Kushina x Minato.
Sakura has Kushina's shinobi's side, but as far as love goes, she not near Kushina at all concerning Naruto. It would be stupid for Naruto to go with her, and Kishi knows that. In fact, all of us know that.
I only said that about the viz scan because you all are looking into things with Hinata that are not there. What I said right after the part about the viz scan I still think is what it's supposed to be about, what him saying that is supposed to represent.
