Yeah that would seem to be the problem. People are pitting them against each other in a battle which is not the point. Who wins is irrelevant the fact is he was afraid.i completely agree...but its hilarious how people just chose to ignore facts like this. but i guess thats what happens when all they looking for are the fights smh....
Much thanksdamn brother
this deserves +rep
fear?
The only thing that kept both at bay was mutual respect . They had an agreement u know
15 year old Obito did not express any fear when he walked into Konoha with Minato and a younger Hiruzen
I can agree with this. Sort of an inbetween, I should have made the thread more neutral like your post LolI agree that Kishi is portraying a certain hesitance. However, I don't believe this is outright fear, but nervousness to act unnecessarily.
But yes, the main point stands that Kishi is trying to portray Itachi as a massive hindrance to Obito's plans.
Itachi admitted he needed ems to beat obito so no
No he cant...speed feats such are needed to counter Kamui
1- Tsukyuomi wont work MS users
2- Obito phases through Amatetrsu and Susanoo
3- If Obito feared Itachi all he had to do is tell Pain to tell the Akatsuki to kill Itachi
Also Obito could have killed Konan any time he wanted...he needed the Rinnegan so he kept her alive
fear?

obito was scared of nothin he merely honored the deal he made with itachi
Obito isn't the type of person to give a shit about his code of honor. He used Nagato like a pawn, planning to have him gather the bijuu to make his own dream a reality, only to find out Obito didn't give a shit about his dream, ultimately trapping Nagato in the Infinite Tsukuyomi, or leaving him dead after Rinne Tensei.I can agree with this. Don't derail the thread. So you're saying it's
Jaraiya > Itachi > Obito?
Mind if I add this to the OP? I forgot to mention it.Obito isn't the type of person to give a shit about his code of honor. He used Nagato like a pawn, planning to have him gather the bijuu to make his own dream a reality, only to find out Obito didn't give a shit about his dream, ultimately trapping Nagato in the Infinite Tsukuyomi, or leaving him dead after Rinne Tensei.
Obito wouldn't care about some stupid pact to leave Konoha alone. Not if that prevented him from completing his goals.
The databook suggests that Obito hesitated to use Kamui in front of Akatsuki in fear of a weakness being found. Obito's own words support that outright.Well we all can use some movie parts to make a point but meh itachi was a threat to obito but no that doesn't mean itachi had counter for kamui
Nice thread. However, the few secrets Obito kept from Itach were most likely Izanagi (Which made Itachi's Amaterasu fail-safe only get to the fail part) and most likely the fact the Gedo Mazo is the Juubi husk. By the time Sasuke wakes up, Obito would have had time to watch their fight (Zetsu can record battles) and noticed the Totsuka Blade and Yata mirror, and it's not too far of a stretch to say that Totsuka Blade could perhaps seal away the Gedo Mazo.Today I will be proving that Obito was afraid of Itachi. Or at the very least Kishi did his best to portray it this way.
I'll be covering both the manga and RTN. RTN is not canon however it was written by Kishi and it is a very suggestive movie.
90% of you won't read this before posting. You can expect your posts/questions to be ignored and reported.:ilu:
The other 10% I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Itachi was the only thing keeping Obito from attacking in part one and in early part two.

By his own admission Obito is admitting that he thought it possible that Itachi would have found a counter to Kamui had he known the truth. As far as we know the only counters to Kamui are genjutsu and what Kakashi did, there are some more that Itachi personally has but I won't elaborate for now. We'll focus on accessing the Kamui dimension and attacking from both sides. Real world and Kamui world.
Itachi is a master of genjutsu. However its doubtful that his genjutsu would be very effective against Obito. Obito has genjutsu feats himself. Controlling the Kyuubi is no joke and suggests a high level of genjustu skills. Higher than Itachi? No but high all the same.
Tsukyomi is likely not work either. After all the only things needed to defeat Tsukyomi by Itachi's own words is, the sharingan, and you need to be a powerful enough Uchiha. There is no doubt Obito is strong and imo he breaks Tsukyomi with mid difficulty.
This is from the RTN movie, written by Kishimoto.
First scene: Itachi shows up and immediately comes to the conclusion that physical attacks are useless. This is an interesting situation for a couple of reasons.
1. Why is it that Itachi is facing Obito and not Pain? As the leader of the Akatsuki he should be fighting Obito not Itachi. Kishimoto is clearly trying to make a point by doing this.
2. The situation is exactly what Obito was telling Sasuke about in the manga.

Itachi is face to face with him and knows his secret. He knows that Obito is can't be touched.
Then Kishi makes Itachi say something interesting. After all things are looking pretty bad for Itachi right? He's facing someone who physical attacks are useless against.

He says that he still has another way. Now obviously this is not canon. I'm not trying to imply in any way that it is. Canonically we don't have any confirmation if Itachi has jutsu that can actually affect a Kamui user while Kamui is engaged.
What happens next? Obito immediately leaves. And here is the thing. He doesn't leave the Alternate Reality and give up, he leaves Itachi. He waits for his chance after Itachi is no longer near Naruto and takes advantage of that moment.
Obito kamuing away from Itachi:

Let me say it one more time. The movie is not canon. It is not canon. It does however stand to suggest with the way Kishi wrote it, shows Obito as afraid of Itachi. Lets recap what happened.
1. He had a chance to fight Itachi. Chose to flee instead.
2. Before leaving commented on how bothersome a guy Itachi is.
My last point. Does anyone else notice how Obito was the leader of the Akatsuki and yet no one knew but Pain, Itachi and Konan?
This is pretty odd. Why would Obito hide behind the shadows and let Pain lead? I think the answer is pretty clear. He wanted to keep as much distance from Itachi as possible. The problem was Itachi's brain. He didn't want Itachi to learn of his Kamui because he knew Itachi either would have a counter or would figure one out. The proof is Konan. He spent a lot of time with Konan and Pain, leading the Akatsuki from behind the scenes.
It left him vulnerable, and Konan figured out his Kamui. He underestimated her. But he did not underestimate Itachi. If he had came out as leader it would have brought him in close contact with Itachi. He would have been vulnerable then.
Also note that Pain was the "leader" So in RTN when Kishi had Itachi face Obito instead of Pain it means it was on purpose. He wanted to make a point. Kamui isn't unbeatable for Itachi. In fact Itachi canonically has 3 or 4 ways. And that Obito was afraid of Itachi.
Thanks for reading. Thoughtful responses are appreciated. If you disagree voice your opinion with a counter that isn't "No he wasn't!" because that's not a counter.
I'm just making a comparision. You said Obito knew he couldn't beat Itachi, and that's why he ran away in that Non-canon movie. Just like how Itachi ran away from Jaraiya in the actual manga.Don't derail the thread.
Mind if I add this to the OP? I forgot to mention it.
Amaterasu hurts yes... that's what fire does to human skin on contact. it hurts. i don't see any connection between your smart ass gif and Obito having fear. Better even, u know what happened with obito after that scene? nothing. that's right. nothing. You must be registered for see images
..........................1.I don't have the scan, I read it in the viz clear up thread.
How convenient
2. Yes it is true, why would konan know his ability and not Itachi?.
Because he gave orders to Pain/Nagato who was always with Konan
3. Except that Itachi called him his mentor and accomplice so you're completely wrong on that account.
Except that he lied the entire battle.
Especially when he called Obito's help for the massacre and went through great lengths to keep him away from Sasuke and himself.
He went to great lengths to keep Obito from himself?
4. His threat is not kamui since he uses it for capture purposes in almost every battle, and what good is inzanagi to an uchiha with inzanami?
His only threat is Kamui. I don't think you know how izanami works
So think again, he has secrets that would eat itachi
Not a vs thread
5. How do you know that it is a lie?
Because 90% of the things he said were lies?
i suppose you cannot read.Amaterasu hurts yes... that's what fire does to human skin on contact. it hurts. i don't see any connection between your smart ass gif and Obito having fear. Better even, u know what happened with obito after that scene? nothing. that's right. nothing.
lmao XDlol, what obito said was little hype goodbye also he couldnt tell sasuke that itachi was his ***** lol
