You can't always follow the numbers just because of how many rabid fans watched them multiple times. For me, I look for overall plot, acting, and looks which to me was Star Trek hands down! not only was the plot great, but so was the acting and choice of actors plus it looks absolutely beautiful! Next would probably be Zombieland just because of how entertaining it was. again it had a good plot and good acting plus the action sequences were just fun to watch

So just cuz they made a lot of money means they're the best? I'm sorry, but like others said, numbers don't always matter. :|
Anyways, for me the best movies of 2009 were:

Twilight was of 09...?
Twilight and New Moon simply got so much money because of its fan base.
If it was a movie on its own, it wouldn't have done so well. [[Considering New Moon was basically just an excuse to have a bunch of guys run around with no shirts.]]
It didn't do very well at showing the story of the book, it was just Bella leading Jacob on, then running back to Edward.
But, really, that's just my opinion, I won't say it was bad. I just THOUGHT it was.
My favorite movies of 09 were Avatar and Star Trek.
Invictus was pretty good too.

No it doesn't. Just the numbers do not tell that the movie was good or bad. You don't know how everyone who watched it thought of it.
