Orochimaru created his own immortality, while Hidan was dependant on whether his prayers were successful or not :)

Hidan didn't have to switch bodies though. So it's like his body was it's kinda like his body is immortal.Orochimaru was dependent on others body and had a time limit of 3 years before being able to transfer. In part 1 he almost died cause he didn't have the right body to transfer too so he got a fodder.

When a full day goes by without Hidan performing his rituals on somebody he loses his immortality. Hidan died a day after Shikamaru owned him.

Hidan has to perform a ritual where he kills somebody to stay immortal,it's likely tied to his religion.

He was immortal.

However, all "immortals" can die somehow.

That's just a fan theory.
How is it a fan theory when Hidan has stated he has to kill people once a day for Jashin? His immortality is linked to Jashin in some way.

Where was that said? It's Hidan's religion to always kill his opponent. Since he didn't kill Yugito, he expressed how he was being blasphemous and stabbed himself as recompense.

The fanbook stated that Hidan's immortality comes from being a successful experiment by the Jashin cult.

Which means it's related to Jashin.Kishi himself said Hidan would die in that pit since he can't kill anyone now,Hidan's immortality is connected to his religion.

IIRC Kishimoto said that Hidan still needs to eat so he's likely dead by now.
