International Basketball most likely.

Maybe timeskip to the future where Kuroko and Kagami are on the Japan National Team, and they go to Olympics and what not.

Are you serious......?

This series needs to end already, I don't feel like having more 15-40 chapter basketball games, just give us the damn epilogue.

I thought I was the only one. After forty episodes, the whole thing has become bland and redundant. Kuroku and Kagame are extremely bland characters. After the Winter games, what else is left? At the end of the day, this is still just a sport. A lot of things shown were outright hilarious, but I enjoyed it initially for the sake of the entertainment. It got old too fast.

You cannot have enough variety within such an anime. It was bound to become bland. End this manga / anime when the series is somewhat decent. Kagami's secret cliched inner strengths and 'OMG, no one can see Kuroko' has been taken to ridiculously hilarious proportions.

Series needs to focus on characterizations and their developments instead of sports side of it for some while.

Regardless of being a basketball manga its strong points is characters not sports aspect of it. Who are even Kuroko's family? It is odd they are not shown while even side characters have shown some family members.

I hope new development tilts the manga in that route.

True that Akashi match was long as hell and his abilities are boring. Zone was overused to the max to make it more dramatic.

Things would seem better if teams other than Seirin would go against each other, their matches are not too long assed and outcome is more unpredictable. Also there is an "oath" between all GoM but only 2 encounters between GoM members' teams occured in near 300 chaps while Kuroko went against every single one of them atleast once.

Man, being a huge Midorima fan, I am disappointed that his character was not expanded upon more. What a shame.

Midorima is my fave.
Best of the GoM for me, only one who stuck to his morals and decency as a sportsman not to mention his further development. I like his shadow/light dynamic with Takao more than Kagami and Kuroko's.

That's why i don't want manga to stop just like that. Somethings can grow to be much better.

I have seen 41 episodes so far, and I am disappointed, as both Kagame and Kuroko annoy the hell out of me. Since they are the main focus of the story, it's obvious the other characters would be overshadowed. Which is why I am not too hopeful that Midorima would ever be expanded up.

Yeah, his dynamic with Takao was far more interesting and humorous.

You are watching only anime then, last thing in anime was occured was Yosen vs Seirin i think.

I have covered all manga chaps and Midorima (along with Takao) get more development.

Do you have any other characters you like?

I am thinking about starting the manga, but damn Kagame and Kuroku are annoying.

That's good to hear. I will start it when I am done with Kuroshitsuji and end few Akame chapters.

In this manga? Can't say I do.

I did not think they were that annoying (ok maybe Kagami is sometimes annoying) but maybe manga feels different. I do not watch anime because characters' voice actors feel sooo old for adolescent males.

Is Black Butler any good? I saw some bad reviews about it.

I like many characters, atleast compared to most aspects of manga like its action. Or rather i do not dislike most of them.

Well, voices can only carry a character so far. I have not found much different between the characters of Sasuke in manga or anime - canon one.

Well, in my opinion, characterization matters a lot to me. For example, other than Solf J Kimblee I dislike most characters in FMA.

If you want to read BB, then read it for Sebastian. His character is quite complex. The manga has good humour and really bad humour at times. So that department, it's a mixed bag. The Ripper and Circus arcs were brilliant. The curry arc in between was a complete joke.

I suggest seeing the canon anime, as Daisuke Ono has done a fantastic job with Sebastian's voice. It really breathes life into the character. I have only just completed the Circus arc, so, I'll give it a 7 / 10. Here is a post I made in another thread about it:

Ciel is such a poor character. Sebastian on the other hand - one of the best I have come across. This series shouldn't have been added under the comedy genre. Sebastian is such a complex character. It's a shame that the author chose this route. I remember the non-canon episodes I saw only a day ago and the last and second last episode of the angel arc took my breath away. The seduction of the angel and the sexual and spiritual metaphors of the male angel becoming one with Sebastian ... I don't think I have ever come across such a delicate form of sexuality and seduction in any anime, ever!

It's scary how it actually is on par with Maria's seduction of James in Silent Hill II. It was THAT brilliant. The intermingling voices and the angel reassuring Sebastian that he would take on the form of a woman to achieve sexual and spiritual union brought back the whole dialogue when he was in the form of a woman and told him that how 'beautiful' Sebastian was and the 'pain in which he was in was exquisite'. Sadistic and downright carnal, without being vulgar and cheap.

Damn damn damn ... this should never have been under comedy, as when Sebastian seduced Beast, it had the same undertones. What a stupid author, honestly. A mature and non-shounen and comedy setting would have let the author bring out the hidden potential in Sebastian. A lot opportunity, really. Still, not a bad manga venture. I am just reading it for Sebastian.

I care about characters too, i meant as far as story's other aspects goes (like plot, action, pacing, art etc. ) i like its characters most. They are not necessarily superb written but atleast they are not annoying so much.

I just started reading BB. I am at 2nd chapter, as of now i don't have an idea whether it is good or not but i am not inclined to quit it.

You'll dive into the 'Jack the Ripper Arc' soon enough then. In my honest opinion, skip the entire 'Curry contest arc' and just read the few end pages. Prince Soma and Igni are horrible characters. You only learn one thing at the end of this arc anyway, which is the only important thing to the arc. Just read a summary. If you really want to read it anyway, then speed read it.

After this arc, the 'Circus arc' will commence and it's quite brilliant.
