Habaki is seen standing on top of a tree branch several meters away from his/her(?) student. He then takes a puff out of his kiseru as he immediately exhales.

It seems it's time to finally learn something new! Tell me everything you know about rain without relying on the information provided by any ninja scrolls. (Wiki)

• What is Rain
• What are it's weaknesses and strengths
• Known users that specialize in (Anime/Manga.)

As she caught sight of her new teacher her eyes widened. He didn't seem to be that old but he gave off an aura of authority. Taking a few seconds to take in all of his features, she noticed he had the the deepest red colored hair she had ever seen. It was styled in many spikes that jutted at even angle. It gave him a wild and dangerous look.

Well... She began, her voice cracking slightly. Rain is a extension of the water elements. Unlike the water element it needs to be raining to perform most of the techs. To do this the user needs to use their chakra to form storm clouds. Once it is raining rain element lets you control the raindrops to use for offensive or defensive purposes. Just like water rain is weak to earth as earth is a lot denser than rain but is also weak to wind as wind blows the raindrops away. It is strong against fire as it douses the fire like water does. The only user of the rain element is Nagato from Amegakure. She finished speaking, wondering if she had give her teacher enough.

As his student finalized the summary, Habaki jumped off the tree branch and landed on the ground, just a few feet away from his student. Habaki began to clap slowly and softly as he cracked a smile and walked towards his student.

Great job...

Habaki then halts and takes yet another puff of his kiseru and peaks once more as he exhales.

It's time to be one with the rain. I want you to start our training by creating a rain source. With the mastery of water comes the skill and ability to change the weather as well, if used correctly. Now try it out, I'm sure you are more than able to.

Hearing the instructions she nodded. Of course she could make it rain, she thought. Water was her main specialty. She loved water more than any other element. And she knew rain would become an extension of that love.

Clearing her mind Rukia performs one hand seal. Usually this jutsu calls for six hand seals but due to her specializing in water she is able to channel and mold chakra with just the one. With the hand seal performed the sky darkens. Clouds as black as night were formed. The clouds seemed to turn off the sun that once shown bright. Once the clouds have completely covered the sky they burst open as rain begins to fall. The rain starts out with just one drop but soon becomes a steady down pour quickly drenching her and her teacher. Feeling the rain on her skin Rukia smiles as the rain soothes her.

I love the rain already.

Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: A perception ninjutsu, allowing one to freely manipulate rain infused with the user's own chakra after waving the Bird → Rat → Ox → Monkey → Rat → Snake hand seals. The rain falls from rain clouds, formed with the users own chakra. During this technique, the falling raindrops are closely linked to the users senses. When the rain is obstructed by a chakra belonging to someone the existence of the target can be detected. The rain will keep on falling until the user uses the seal to cancel it.

In anticipation of the rain falling as the sky darkens, Habaki chains through a few hand seals and raises his right hand up towards the sky with an open palm. He then releases his chakra in the form of an invisible "shield" of sorts, creating a make-shift umbrella that allows him to completely dry from the descending drops of water.

(Amagasa no Jutsu) - Umbrella Technique
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: A helpful technique for staying dry in the rain. After a few short handsigns, the user can create an invisible umbrella by extending their arm over their head and holding an open palm towards the sky. This "umbrella stops all rain, but cannot stop jutsu that take a more solid form like the Rain spear technique. This technique was actually made to stop the acid rain technique and other average falling rain techniques from touching the user.

Good, now I want you to sit down in a meditate pose and concentrate on the rain. I want you to feel the rain, be one with the rain, connect with it, and allow it to be one with you as well.

Rukia nods as she sits down onto the rain soaked ground. It had only been raining for a short time but in that short time the dirt had become mud. Crossing her legs and closing her eyes Rukia began to meditate. Her mind became clear, letting her senses take over. After a moment she felt like she had soared to a higher elevation. All around her was black, she saw no light. Before she could figure out what was happening, she began to fall or that's the sensation she felt. Far below she could barely make out a figure. What she could make out was that rain drops were falling just below her. She kept falling and falling. Each passing second she got closer to the figure. Slowly she made out the features of the object. It had jet back hair and wore robes of black. She landed on the persons head with a plop. As she landed her vision seemed to zoom out until it revealed that she had fallen, as a raindrop, onto her own head. Rukia then snapped back into her own body. Without opening her eyes she uttered one word.

Wow.

Wow.

Habaki cracks a smile as he exhales a cloud of smoke from his mouth.

Your facial expression tells me everything..

Habaki then proceeds to crouch down whilst maintaining his umbrella and reaching inside of his ninja pouch with is left hand, grabbing a hold of a small scroll. He then proceeds by unraveling the scroll out in front of his student.

From now on I would like you to start using this scroll (template) for every time you perform (reply to) a technique.

Good question! However... this scroll was created by non other than Sai. I asked him to utilize his special ink, thus allowing longer and stronger resistance to everything in general, including mother nature. Oh, and don't forget!

Habaki looks up towards his invisible umbrella and winks. He then looks back down and extends his left hand's index finger and points at the first technique located inside of the scroll.

(Ame Tama no Jutsu) - Rain Bullet Technique
Rank: D
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: By focusing chakra into the user's hand they are able to gather rain drops towards their palms, the rain is molded together by chakra and forged into a high pressured orb. Once done the orb will shoot away from the users hand and the user will be knocked back. If it hits the enemy the enemy will be sent away flying or unbalanced.

This is a very simple technique and very similar to regular water-release related techniques. I want you to focus your chakra outwards and manipulate the rain droplets around your vicinity to come inwards onto your palm. You will the shape manipulate the rain drops into perfect orb of rain water. Using shape manipulation I want you to highly pressurize the orb as you are forming it. Then its a matter of simply releasing the orb to your desired target. Though keep in mind, unlike other techniques this one packs some recoil.

Once you're ready I want you to test it out against that tree over there, the one directly at your three o'clock view.

Rukia begins to write on the scroll with the special ink.

Strong points

  • Can perform relatively quick.
  • No hand seals

Weak points

  • It only reaches short range.
  • Low rank combined with the low range make it unsuitable for most battle situations.

Combinations-strategies Hmm since this is a bullet the best thing to combo with this is to perform a jutsu that comes from above or below so that the bullet has a greater change of landing.

Ways to counter this technique Earth armor, Hardening tech, Mokuton no jutsu, Doton no Jutsu. Those techs are best used if you just want to defend but if you want to defend and attack a wind bullet or mud shot would be best.

Listening intently to her instructions, Rukia could hardly contain her excitement. She had been waiting for a year and five months to learn how to utilize rain. Nodding furiously Rukia turns to the tree he had pointed out to her. Raising her hand she channeled chakra into her palm. Using the chakra she causes raindrops to be drawn towards the center of her palm. She keeps adding more and more raindrops. As the drops are collected they are compressed together. Soon a unstabilized orb is formed. Its not perfectly formed just yet. Concentrating Rukia uses more chakra to stabilize the orb. The orb, with the chakra, finally stabilizes and becomes a perfect sphere. Using her chakra Rukia causes the rain bullet to explode forward towards the tree. The force of the bullet pushes Rukia back slightly. Hitting the tree the bullet takes out a hand sized chunk of the tree.

How was that? She asks.

OOC: Good, however I am sure you can squeeze out a little bit more juice out of the technique. Strong points; The recoil could possibly be used in your favor, allowing you to defend against situations, for example attack whilst at a same time defending from a falling kunai from above. Another strong point could be that you can actually still release it as a projectile type attack and are not forced to use it as a rasengan type.

As for the weak points, the low ranked would obviously be mentioned for most techniques that you will be first learning so its purely cosmetic to mention. One of the weak points that you could have mentioned is, one of the strong points that I just stated. The recoil; Due to the high pressurization you'd be push back, and in close range that isn't always a good thing to do if you need stability to perform taijutsu combos.

As far as the combos and counters are concerned, I want you to pretend I don't know what you are thinking. And by that I mean the usage of mokuton/doton no jutsu. Am I suppose to guess you are making a pillar and such under you or something? I want you describe in detail how you'd use X technique to defend against Y attack. If possible the name of the technique and how you'd use it effectively.

I know it isn't easy to completely fill out this template with some of these techniques but I'd like you to try and do so to the best of your ability from here on out ^_^

Very good job, now it's time to teach you one of my favorite techniques!

(Secchakuzai no Kouu) - Rain of Glue
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: When user makes it rain and then changes the compounds of the water(materials in the air). Then makes the rain sticky which binds the opponent in place for 2 turns.this jutsu lasts for 2 turns.

After you've successfully created a rain source, or simply are using a natural rain source (which would delay all your rain techniques because your chakra is not already within the drops) you will channel your chakra outwards into a medium range radius, or any area within medium range that you desire. You will focus on each individual rain drop within that are and shape manipulate them, changing their compounds similar to the water syrup technique. However, you will go a step further and make it more gluey. This sticky rain allows you to bind your target for a total of two turns if they don't get rid of the sticky rain. The best thing about this jutsu is that it lasts for two turns so the opponent is forced to either make a shelter, take care of the clouds, or change positions.

Strong points

  • Very good tech to use to root your opponent or slow them down
  • Good tech to use to zone you're opponent. Cover the field where you don't want them to go, so they have no choice but to go where you want then to.
  • Would be hard to counter before the rain started to become glue, as the opponent wouldn't know about it without meta gaming. The opponent would most likely get some glue on them or there feet.

Weak points

  • Could be caught in the glue if not careful with that wording.
  • Since this tech isn't offensive the opponent could attack then deal with the rain glue second thus stopping any combo.

Combinations-strategies
First perform this then follow up with stone spikes for a nice C rank combo. Another combo would be to use rain glue and then sticky earth drop for a double sticky situation.

Ways to counter this technique
Using the doton no jutsu one could cause a slab to raise up to cover the user an protect them from the rain. If using a yuki bio the defender could just freeze the rain by using hyouton no jutsu, taking away the sticky properties. One could also use the umbrella tech.

With the rain falling Rukia channels chakra in the rain drops around her teacher. Using that chakra Rukia starts to change the composition of the rain drops. By using shape manipulation she is able to change the raindrops. The raindrops start to change at a molecular level. The composition changes from that of water to that of a gluey substance with a high viscosity. As the raindrops hit a surface instead of exploding into tiny droplets it spreads out covering a tiny surface. With each new raindrop the surface of the ground is covered more and more by the glue like rain. Soon all around you is covered except for a half meter area around you. If you were to move and step on the glue it would immediately stick to your foot pulling it down, making it hard to move.

OOC: Awesome, that was good ^_^

Now I want you to remember to very useful things about this technique. One; it can be used as a source of rain for certain rain techniques, which potentially means you could make a rain technique made out of that sticky substance. Two; The rain actually doesn't change in color or anything of the sort, it simply becomes sticky by changing it's compounds, which means very hard to notice. (As you pointed it out, aka metagaming.)

(Touei Ame Bushin) - Reflection Rain Clone
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This technique creates a reflection of the user, this clone is unable to touch physical objects or cause harm. Every move that the user makes the clone mimics at the same time. The reflection clone is destroyed after one hit, this is a tactical technique.

Pretty simple technique, by utilizing the falling rain beside you, I want you to manipulate the rain water and create a reflection of yourself just as if you were looking at a mirror minus in the reversed effect. This clone is very different than other clones. Unlike regular clones this clone will mimic your every movement.

Strong points

  • Good tech to use as a distraction. Get the opponent to focus the clone then slip around to the opponents blind spot.
  • No hand seals, so it can be formed relatively stealthy.

Weak points

  • Can't perform any techs.
  • Can't cause harm to anything. Other offensive clones may be better to use in most situations.
  • Can only take one hit before it disperses. So even a freeform Tai attack could destroy it making shadow clones a better choice.

Combinations-strategies
Hmm this clone would be best to use to hide your real self. Since it mimics your movements you could have it perform handseals and the opponent would think that its the one attacking. This could also combo well with the hiding in rain tech.

Ways to counter this technique
Well if I know that there are two people id use a just like stone spikes that can attack multiple targets. Since three clone can't use techs the opponent would most likely sacrifice it.

Question: Since it says it a reflection does the falling rain cause it to look weird or anything?

Hearing the instructions she nods once more. Once again Rukia channels her chakra into the raindrops. Using the chakra she causes the raindrops to begin reflecting. The reflection starts off blurry and shapeless. After concentrating harder the reflection soon takes on a human shape. After a few more seconds features can be made out. The hair, nose, eyes and the robes become apparent. Still a little blurry Rukia concentrates to stabilize the image. Once stabilized the image looks exactly like her. Staring at the image Rukia touched her chin. In reaction the clone also touches its chin.

Fascinating.

(Amegakure No Jutsu) - Hidden Rain Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: A jutsu that can only be used in rain to conceal oneself, this jutsu is considered a dynamic form of henge. After performing a row of hand-seals, the user seems to disappear. In truth, they have merely assumed a form that mimics rain. Fast movements and physical contact with others may reveal the user

This technique is very similar to the hiding in water technique. After performing an unknown number of hand-seals, (sadly...) I want you to focus your chakra throughout your body and the rain around you, allowing you to conceal yourself by mimicking the falling rain. This is very similar to the concealment technique however you don't use lighting, instead you use the rain itself as cover by manipulating it and adjusting yourself to it.

Strong points

  • It completely hides the user, perfect to use for a sneak attack.
  • Since it is a form of henge it lasts until canceled.

Weak points

  • Can't move very fast or it'll cancel the tech.
  • Once a tech is performed it also breaks the tech.
  • The number of handseals makes it easy for them analyze what's going. So using this when the opponent has eyes on you is ill advised.

Combinations-strategies
Using this with a clone would combine for a good sneak attack. The clone draws the opponents attention, while the user sneak around to the opponents blind spot.

Ways to counter this technique
Well if I see the opponent go invisible I could use a wide reaching jutsu like swamp to turn most of the ground into swamp so they are unable to move. If I didn't see them then Id have to wait until they use a tech because any other way would be Metagaming.

The rain had been fallen for sometime now. The feeling of rain on her skin seemed to of disappeared. Rukia first performs a row of hand seals. This time instead of channeling her chakra into the rain she spreads it evenly across her skin. Then she manipulates the chakra so that it changes her appearance. Her appearance looks as if rain is falling in a human shape but to the rain falling around her its looks as if its apart of it. This in essence makes her invisible to the naked eye.

I hope that was right.

Sorry if that's wrong but I didn't understand the tech a hundred percent.

OOC: Well I can understand why you aren't 100% certain with this technique as it is a tad bit confusing, specially since most if not all rain techniques have never been shown in the manga. This technique, as it states; is a variant of sorts from the transformation technique. As you are somewhat "transforming" your body to mimic the falling rain, like coating yourself and chakra allowing "become" it to put it lightly. Although it states it's henge, it can also be consider similar to the concealment technique as that one uses the light's reflection and other things to assume invisible. You'd practically be doing the same thing here in different ways to reflect and become the rain. (Not entirely BECOMING rain..)

Any questions before we proceed?

(Hitoshirenu Ame Sai) - Hidden Rain Slash
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: The user manipulates their chakra to condense a single raindrop into a more solid form. The raindrop becomes as sharp as a blade. The disadvantage to this jutsu is that the raindrop falls in a straight line.

I want you to focus on a single raindrop anywhere within medium range distance from yourself. You will then proceed to shape manipulate the drop itself, causing it's molecules to contract, making it into a solid of sorts. As the rain drop solidifies I want you to shape the edges of it and make them thin/sharp, enabling you to "pierce/cut" into the target that it falls on. Keep in mind though, you are unable to manipulate the destination of the raindrop as it will be naturally falling down in a straight line.
