Damn Black Zetsu is so weak. How he killed Madara?

Latest chapter revealed how weak Black Zetsu is. When Naruto pinned him down he started crying for his mom to save him. It's kinda pathetic.

But he managed to possess Madara. I mean Madara is pretty much strongest character in the manga. Him being taken out by black zetsu makes no sense.
