Here is my thoughts on what happened in 688.
We have all been noticing the last few chapters Naruto is growing stronger by the minute.
How this is possible i think is because the pieces of the bijuu that were in Naruto have actually fully grown and he now possesses half their chakra just like how kurama was split in 2 pieces.
Now diving into the whole transformation of kaguya we see 9 clones of Naruto each one using an OP Rasengan with each of the tailed beasts power.
Since these powers are also used in Rage Mode by Naruto i think the power has doubled.
So we have 9 Rasengans with 9 different attributes all making contact on Kaguya at the sametime. Since these Rasengans are chakra based i have a sneaking suspicion that kaguya tried to absorb it all to gain back what she thinks is her chakra. Since Black Zetsu seemed to be her actual intelligence and he was cut away from her and locked in place he couldnt stop her from trying to absorb the chakra.
So here is what i think actually happened at that moment when she tried to absorb the chakra it was waaay too much for her to handle which caused her to go into an unstable juubi form of a rabbit.
This is a theory i had after reading 688 give me your thoughts on it as well.

After reading through it one more time paying very close attention i noticed something else.
Notice her reaction she definently had a smirk in the panel on the right then in the next panel the beasts start coming out of her arm naruto cut off next 2 panels her smirk turned into confusion so i believe im completely correct in this theory.
