So, Toshiro is not dead right? They said he was turned while alive? If he is dead then I drop Bleach forever, so I would like to be sure, but he sounds alive to me.

Bambi was dead and so has a hint of consciousness and could talk and had a tiny sense of self, Toshiro is unconscious so therefore he has none. He is alive!

It sounds like he is alive but unconscious. Doesn't make sense how she has personality while dead but oh well, I think he is gonna be ay okay though.

An if he is dead? You know myuri can bring the dead back to life.

When the person dies they are revived to the way they were, Toshiro however is just being controlled that's why his consciousness is gone.

If he is'nt dead yet, mayuri will fix that.

Was about time too, the annoying brat should've died a 100 times over.
Seriously, its almost as bad as Ichigo.

Actually he is dead. Mayuri and that chick (forgot her name) pretty much confirm this. Mayuri realize that Toshiro is dead but he is wondering why he is moving much better then Bambi. That chick (forgot her name) tells Mayuri that she/he turned Toshiro into a Zombie BEFORE he died. This means he died after being turned. This allowed her to have better control over his mind and body and thus his body remained in a fresh enough state. Its simple wording that get people confused. But she and Mayuri did indeed confirm Toshiro is DEAD. He just died after becoming a Zombie. This is why Mayuri was so confused because he wasn't sure why Toshiro was moving and fighting so well but he still assumed Toshiro died AFTER becoming a Zombie and not before. So she turned him and he either died from his wounds from Bazz B or that chick finished him off. This also explain why he has dark skin like Bambi. Which we learn has nothing to do with control but more so the state they are in as Zombies. Living Zombies look normal while dead Zombies have a darker skin tone.

Please Kubo let this be true and Toshiro is not dead. I am not a big mayuri fan but if he saves Toshiro I will be so happy

No, there is no confirmation of that, also they stop calling him a corpse after this. If Toshiro had died after becoming a Zombie he would be resurrected and not be the mindless doll that he is. there is no confirmation that Toshiro died after becoming a zombie. Granted the wording could be taken a different way if you want to read it that way, but there is no confirmation yet, even I, who have no respect for Kubo anymore, can not believe that he would A) be stupid enough again to kill off one of his top five favorite characters and B) be stupid enough to give that character a death that that happened because he passed out.

Honestly, the very last thing in the world Kubo needs is to loose more readers and the death of a character so incredibly popular as Toshiro would loose him a large portion of fan base, just the angry and stupefied reaction on here proved that. Also, I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but there has been a huge lull in the posting in the Bleach section here since the last chapter.

Kubo was not stupid enough to kill off Byakuya and I seriously doubt he will kill of Toshiro, unless he is completely stupid and doesn't look at the popularity listings of his own characters.

Also Zombie doesn't always mean dead, being a Zombie can also mean being mindless, as Toshiro is. Honestly, there is no way of knowing yet, I'm still ready to dump Bleach at any given second if Kubo has finally nailed the lid shut on his once great creation.

Yes, reading back terms such as "before death" sound ominous, however, Kubo seems to be hinting at him not being dead, while saying he is at the same time, as before Bambi said a soul reaper does not need to be dead for her to control. I think this is Kubo's way of keeping the readers in suspense.

I am pretty sure he is dead man. I think hes a cool character as well. We at least he looks cool. But the way this chapter talks about him then I am sure he is dead. Mayuri already said he was dead 3 times. Even after he realized why Toshiro was a lot stronger then Bambi he still considered him dead. It really does explain his skin tone as well. I thought that the skin tone was just a factor of how much control she had over her Zombies but actually it means they are dead. Which pretty much makes sense. He might be able to be brought back but in the state he is in NOW then he is dead.

Yes, I think that is Kubo's suspense, the characters don't know how Bambi's powers work properly, so because he is Zombiefied they consider him dead, but when Bambi inevitably gets whats coming to him, the zombie effect on those that are/were living when turned wheres off.

This is the only scenario that makes sense from a writing point of view, even Kubo can't be stupid enough to turn even more readers away from his manga...can he? And with such a pathetic demise, I think there will be a trick there somewhere, but we will have to wait and see.

Mind you, how can a soul reaper die, there dead already, even the very basis of Bleach doesn't make sense.

Toshiro shouldn't die.not because he's popular and people will get butthurt, that's a really dumb reason to hold the plot back imo.he should live because of his potential and foreshadowing.if shunsui died say 50-100 years later, toshiro would be the best candidate for head captain

Shunsui says that toshiro is a prodigy who will one day surpass him.then he becomes head captain.know what Im getting at?

I am a big Toshiro fan so I don't want him to be dead, but what you said is true and I will agree with you on all of it.

For me I don't want Toshiro to be dead cause he is my fav character but also he has so much potential on being stronger then what we have seen of him. I really hope Mayuri saves him from this and he is better.

Toshiro's death would do nothing to move the plot, a character like Toshiro should not be added to the body count for the sake of it.
