Yes, but we don't know he is dead because we don't know precisely how GiGi's power works, we don't know that if he dies any zombie turned when alive will not revert to normal, we don't know if turning him into a zombie actually kills, there is no way Kubo would reveal that in the dialogue because it is part of the suspense. Until GiGi pegs-it, I doubt we will know for sure.

We have a good idea of how it works. When someone comes into physical contact with the blood of Gigi, she/he is able to to turn the person covered in his/her blood into a zombie. Now, Gigi can do this with both the living and the dead. We can safely assume that people that are turned while dead remain dead, but as you said, we do not know every function of Gigi's ability. This is why we have reason to believe that people turned while alive can still reawaken from their zombified state.

Toshiro's death would do nothing to move the plot, a character like Toshiro should not be added to the body count for the sake of it.

Toshiro has not appeared the Manga anymore than Byakuya, Kenny, Mayuri, Yammamoto and co, and less than Renji, Kisuke and many others, really all he has had is one big fight in each arc and he had the smallest fight in the fullbring arc.

I really don't know know at this point and it doesn't make since if he is really alive his skin should absolutely NOT look like Bambietta and instead look like the controlled shinigami's Giselle summoned earlier that look normal but being controlled, Kubo and logic don't mix well.

Yea, but if he looked the same then we would know he is not dead and there would be no suspense, I still have 1/2 a percent faith that Kubo is not a complete and utter moron, of course he will likely prove me wrong:eww: It is such a shame that one of the greatest character creators and artists in Manga also happens to have blinkers on when it comes to story telling.
