You're probably not the only one who feels that way, but then again I'm probably not the only one who doesn't get your perspective.
He grew up tough and had to fight for the recognition he's received. No one believed in him. Then after proving himself, people saw (and he himself realized) that he had greatness in him all along despite his circumstances, he just had to believe in and apply himself. Sounds like the majority of success stories to me. You look at any of the greats in any particular area, most didn't come from upbringings that you would think would lead to greatness, but once they became great, people believed they were destined for it. It's no different than Naruto being prophesized to save the world. If you really paid attention to the manga, you'd notice that no one gave him that credit until he proved himself as a strong ninja with potential. They weren't calling him the child of prophecy in chapter one. They showed him love only after he started going places. That's literally how it is in real life. How you feel that isn't relatable is really beyond me.
As far as him forgiving Obito, that may not be as relatable to some, but then again who can really relate to having to fight with someone who killed your parents. We've seen Naruto go through emotional stages of anger, revenge, jealousy, as well as forgiveness. He's matured. That's it. It's not relatable only because unfortunately maturity isn't a familiarity in this world. But hanging your hat on this small aspect of Naruto's character as being a reason to be disappointed in his overall development, which by the way the point of development is to....you know..."develop", so his recent attitude and resolve should be expected considering the stages we've seen him go through, is foolish in my opinion. To each his own and all due respect, but I don't see the big deal you guys have been making lately about Naruto. The argument just sounds really immature...ironically enough
